an 80-word story
Through the Pillars of Aries
by Bill Schott
The trek was long, and Bolt-B17 was feeling the strain. Having landed two-hundred kilometers from the projected landing point, the synthetic humanoid had been moving on foot to the location of Alpha Base and the completion of its mission.
After passing through the Pillars of Aries, the base appeared within a kilometer. Like a shining castle on the hill, the Martian station instilled what could be best described as hope in the programming center of the fabricated being. Bolt smiled.
