Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Drips on the leaves

Another Monday Morning Rain

Another Monday morning rain
so softly falling all around.
That pitter-patter old refrain
blows goose grey clouds close to the ground.

Dull dreary day is so mundane -
lends time to dream and contemplate.
Rain splashes on my windowpane.
Drips on the leaves, drops on the slate.

A day to stay in bed and sleep
or sip a second cup of joe.
But there are promises to keep
that rain and clouds will never know.

Alas, the sun peeks through the clouds.
Bright shards of light beam right at me.
"The rain has stopped!" I shout out loud.
"Get up you sleepy head and pee."

I haven't written for awhile and THIS is what I come up with for today. Maybe I just needed a little levity for the day. :))))
