Prompted by Fear of Revenge?
Preemptive Muting?
by Elizabeth Emerald
Yesterday, I got a 3-star review, with citations for errors pertaining to terms I'd coined for the purpose of witty (?) wordplay. (The reviewer also misconstrued "peruse" as a misspelling of "pursue.") He closed with words of encouragement: (paraphrasing) This could be really great! Let me know when it's fixed.
I explained that I'd invented the "words" with whimsical intent, that I meant "peruse" as in read, then closed with my usual "Thanks for stopping by."
Given our high-five culture, I've been attempting to accrue evidence in support (or not) of my hypothesis that honest, earnest, reviews tend to come from those new to the site. With that purpose in mind, I clicked on his profile.

His knowlege of muting and revenge reviews speaks against his being a new member.
Then again, maybe not; I learned about both my first week.
The hard way.
THIS JUST IN: The member in question is nowhere to be found. I'm guessing he got spooked by the prospect of revenge pending and absconded from Storyland.
