a short story
There Was a Knock on the Door
by Bill Schott
There was a knock on the door. I opened it and saw a naked lady. She was about ninety years old and looked as though she was lost.
"Hello, dear," I said. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, sir. Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?"
Being an intelligent man, I immediately discerned that this woman needed help.
"Please come in, dear," I said.
"My mom said not to enter anyone's house unless she came along."
"Sure, well, where is she?"
"Behind you, Dummy!"
I woke up later where I fell. My house was emptied of anything valuable and I had a cookie in my hand.
I called the police and ate the cookie.
