A Cliff-hanger Story

by LisaMay

Climber came unstuck –
got the hang of it too late
when her frayed rope broke.

Chalk it up to fate –
last of the family line
at end of tether.

Stone deaf to advice,
thinking we were just bluffing,
she fell down a cliff.

What a rocky path.
We’d have made her stay at home
if we were boulder.

This is knot funny.
It’s unkind to make a joke
about Miss Fortune.
