An Example of Loving Friendship

You ask what makes me happy?
This year has had an impact
and all I can say as a fact,
while this might sound rather sappy,
what brings me joy is my cat.

She knows nothing of fraud’s deception,
just wants to purr on my knee.
Always gives me a welcome reception –
together we live happily.

She’s black, and I’m white – it don’t matter!
I’m left and she’s right – it won’t shatter
our harmonious tranquillity.

As an example of loving friendship
that we all should support naturally,
she overcomes any hardship
with love, and not spitefully.

She might pee in the corner sometimes,
and briefly we disagree;
but that is the worst of her crimes…
she’d never shit on ME!
