The thing that always makes me happy,
besides being with my family,
is putting my dreams down on paper,
through the medium called poetry.

Much of who I am, can be found there,
many worlds to imagine, create.
Each day I awake with new visions,
my excitement, it never abates.

I write about hope, love, and laughter,
what makes me afraid and feel sorrow.
I write about this day I'm living,
and things that might happen tomorrow.

I can think of nothing that's better,
then to spend a cold, wet afternoon,
trying to find the right word to rhyme,
the deadline for the contest comes soon!

The joy that I find when I'm writing,
there is nothing that can be compared,
Than expressing the feelings that I have,
in the poetry that I have shared.

I also read books and eat tacos,
they make me quite happy, you see.
But what I love most, besides family,
is each day to write my poetry.
