A Sonnet

Christmas Fare

by Dolly'sPoems

A table decked with tinsel bright and red
with crackers and with candles burning bright;
the smell of turkey cooking fills our head,
and glasses clinking, toasting through the night.

And when the day is done, we're over fed,
all stuffed with goodies from the Christmas fare,
another mince pie served before our bed,
is downed with one more naughty chocolate square.

As celebrations fill our day with fun
on Christmas day when goodwill fills the soul;
and in our hearts we know the love we won--
with family united we're consoled.

We share our love around the world today
and if you shed a tear, it is okay.
