Six Feet

3-6-9 Poem contest entry
The image is the sunrise from my boat on November 1, 2020. We were social distancing from SV Oreanda who was anchored east of us. We didn't know them. And we won't get to know them during lockdown. No more impromptu sailor potlucks. Oh well. We brought our own beer, anyway. :)
We anchored in a depth of eighteen feet with a scope of 1 to about 3.5. Luckily it wasn't terribly windy. If we had let our more scope, we could run into our anchored neighbors in the night. Tide rips and eddies mean that we don't always spin in the same direction, and I have found that no one here typically uses more than 1:5 scope, for some reason, even though textbooks all say use 1:7 scope.
