Heavenly Happy, Ireland Golfing

Those knowing me well have heard me say,
"You know, a fine golf course is like a
Beautiful woman; no matter how badly
She treats you when you are together,
You dream of her when you are apart!"
Oh, happy dreams of beguiling beauties
Who will ever haunt me, beckon me,
Call to me as did sirens call Ulysses,
Ladies of both seaside links and interior parks,
Ireland's golf courses grip my heart.

Old golfers dream in such fantasies of
Moments with partners such as these, of
Disarming beauty and playful ways
And, sassy retorts to your best plays;
Golf is surely life in true similarity!
Make no mistake, most are not young,
Fact be, much older they, and ready to
Punish and torment a man for his
Mistakes, to hide from he what is his,
To tantalize, then deny his victory!

Upon this Isle I call "Heaven’s Front Gate",
Tralee, Lahinch, Adare, Waterville, Kerry,
Killarney, Ballybunion, Olde Head,
Royal County Down lured me to their tees,
To walk their fairways, brave their
Bunkers, their cold, wet, windy weather!
Even through misty eyes, I gaze at Ireland,
Disappearing from my view or dream,
Yet, happy to whisper old consoling words:
"Never let the sorrow of ‘good-bye’
Diminish the joy of your time together."

Write about a place that you have visited or would like to go, somewhere that makes you feel happy even when you think of it. You're happy place.

Business took me to many places, family took me to many others, just pure fun has only taken me one: Ireland, to me, is indeed Heaven's Front Gate. Love the people and the pints, but the golf is the Happy topping for a truly Happy Place.
