Nacho Celebration Even the Odds writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt Write an Even the Odds Poem pertaining to NACHOS. That's right folks, the 'cover me up' chip dish that everyone loves to customize has its own day: Friday, November 6th. Therefore, to honor such a prestigious celebration, you are to write an Even the Odds poem that somehow, someway brings out the best (or the worst) of the popular appetizer (or meal!). And yes, there really is a National Nacho Day... if you don?t believe me that there really is such a day, check out this link: http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/October/nacho-day.htm Now, without further ado, go break out a bag of tortilla chips and get to building your favorite stack! Then grab your pen and impress us, make us laugh, make us cry, but just get us to vote for your nacho rendition! :) As a reminder, the 'Even-the-Odds' poetry format has a syllable count of 2-4-6-8-10-9-7-5-3-1 [starts out with evens and finishes with odds] The first line (two syllables) and the last line (one syllable) are essentially synonyms There is no rhyme requirement, although it isn't discouraged. An example is included at the end of this announcement although REMEMBER TO CENTER your text [very loosely resembling a diamond shape - note the 'loosely' here... perfection is not required!] Evening Performance By Y. M. Roger Fairies Flit through the air Chromatic symphony Of effulgent streaks and glitter Performing 'neath where the trees meet the stars Tonight, the crickets and frogs join in Enhancing the vibrant show You'll never forget Dancing with Sprites! |
I lived in Texas for 20 years. Tried Hot roasted Habanero, once. That was all!
