In the year of 2020, Chinese Communists aplenty
Let a virus loose – it "wenty" all around the world;
Americans were living life with just the usual bit of strife
Happy, working, healthy—good economy and more
Up until old Covid hit –it crashed right through our door 
Put an end to normal life, by gore!
 
Then our leader closed our border to the Chinese like he oughta
Saving thousands in the process from infection, even more
But, of course the man was blamed, called him “RACIST,” was defamed,
And the public was inflamed: we’ll show him the door!
Then old Fauci with his order: stay within your brick and morter
Stay because I say you oughta stay forever more!
 
Months have passed; we’re in our masks, we’re so ready for a change—
Getting lazy, going crazy; soon we’ll be deranged;
Weary, weary to the bone of having to remain at home,
Our kids are balking at this ruling: seems they WANT in-person schooling
But, the Biden, from his basement, says “I’ll close us down again!”
This inciteful insight is his problem-solving plan.
 
So, as far as being Poe-ish, there is just a smidgen mo-ish
Of this horror story that I must relate to you:
If Americans are kept from work at which we are adept
And businesses are forced to shut down(really?) once again,
That will truly be the end of all our rights that we defend—
Our country, as we know it, will be gone forever more.
