Love Never Dies

Searching Spirit

by Boogienights

Her footsteps you can never hear,
Yet, you can hear her whispered voice.
She searches for someone so dear,
to find her, her heart would rejoice.

She wanders as she has for years,
the walls that crumble she can't see.
She walks through ruins of a house,
where once a love had come to be.

Then a child graced their lives,
abundant joy, a little girl.
Who grew to look just like her mom,
her beauty set boys heart's awhirl.

But sickness came so swift that she,
was taken by the angels quick.
Her mother was consumed with grief,
her strength had drained, she too fell sick.

The father long since moved away
when his dear wife, death came to claim.
He couldn't stay where they all lived,
they died, he shouldered all the blame.

Now walk she does and searches for
her daughter who possessed her heart.
That spirit though left long ago,
she joined the angels from the start.

She does not know that life is done,
she only sees her house of love.
And wonders where her daughter hides,
in the cellar or up above?

Her spirit cries and tears drip down,
sometimes you'll see them on the floors.
She'll wander through all time to find,
the daughter that she still adores.

If you should pass by that old house,
and in the window see a light.
Fear not for there's no malice, just
a spirit searching through the night.

Many years pass...

Then one night through the darkness came,
a light the spirit recognized.
Her daughter stood with open arms,
flew to her mother, no surprise.

Her search has now come to an end,
and with the angels they both dwell.
A story through the ages told,
is it true? The ghosts won't tell.
