Getting Old

by the13thpoet

As my body starts to age
My bones crack, my hair turns gray
Often forget what I'm going to say
Oh why must it be this way?

Why can't things remain the same?
Every morning a brand new pain
Why'd I come in this room? I rack my brain
Is this Alzheimer's or am I insane?

Seems my body's going astray
Can't see my friend, belly's in the way
He use to rise everyday
Now he barely wants to play

Guess I must embrace this change
Loss of hair, sight, and brain
The young man of my youth has hopped the train
This tired old man is all that remains
