Prologue
Lands beyond these seas...

By royowen

Lands beyond these seas ...

Another friend has crossed that bridge
to lands beyond these seas.
A quiet man who walked with faith
in whom His God is pleased.

Although I never met this saint,
we'll run one day on plains,
where light and rain have kissed these fields
where grace writes love's refrains,

My friend composed a pilgrim's song,
a perfect melody.
He wrote these words to praise the one
who joined in harmony.

As time can never stem the flow
where life will never end.
As saints and angels join as one
and praise and worship blend.

I know this place outside of time
of beauty's fulfilled dreams.
Where light cascades as like a brush
that paints with light's bright beams,

One day we'll meet when comes my day
to gaze upon his face.
And filled with joy we'll join as one
as truth we will embrace.

Author Notes My friend and fellow saint August has passed away in recent days and his precious daughter wished for me to start a multi writer book to compose some tributes and send them to her to honour our long time gifted writer who was a lovely man, a Godly gentleman and beloved brother in the Lord. August was working as a contractor at the Pentagon when 9/11 attacks occurred and sustained injuries which eventually cost his life, another casualty of evil happening.
I wish his family peace and healing in Jesus name at this time.
Please post if your able to, on this multi author prompt.

1John 3:2-3 Beloved, now we are the sons of God and it doth yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hopein Him prurifieth himself, even as He is pure.
Thanks for reading. R.Owen

Chapter 1
A Humbled Man, Heart Of Gold

By royowen

today I was informed by Amber
daughter of
Crzypnter (August)
that he has passed away
he was a family member of FanStory sence 2013
a very talented writer,
and a good friend to so many

I had told him a few times,
if he would publish a book
I would be the first to buy it

August was a very kind man,
and had a heart of gold
he used to help others by delivering
meals on wheels to those who needed him
he was always helping others
a very humble soul

I had asked his daughter if she would
mind if I posted his passing
she told me a few things about her father

August was a survivor of 9/11
he was hurt when they hit the Pentagon
he was a contractor there,
he only spoke of it once to Amber,
and never wished to speak of it again

he will truly be missed by so many
in our Fanstory family
I am heartbroken over his loss
my heart and my prayers go out to his
family and friends
he is now Resting In Peace
he now walks with God

this is not the end
this is just the beginning
he is now at home

amber said she is leaving his poems
on his profile for awhile,
for anyone who wants to
go back and read them
she is also considering
publishing a book with some of the poems
I pray she does

God Bless my sweet friend,
you are now home
love you...Linda xxoo

Author Notes I wanted to put a poem in the book Royowen is making for August.
All are so welcome to participate.
The site wouldn't let me copy and paste my original tribute over. Tom said it couldn't be done.
So I rewrote this to be in the book. There's a few changes in things he had done for people in his life, but mostly it is the same.

PLEASE DON'T REVIEW if you already have !!!!! love to you all...Linda xxoo

Real . . . stars . . . linger—
with mem’ries of their light.
Their dazzling, dancing glimmers
will shine both day and night.

the sky may seem a blackened pool

It’s easy to grow bitter.
They’re much too far away to touch—
you’ll always feel their glitter.

Author Notes Author's Notes:
I was sad to hear we lost another member of our family. August was a dear soul and talented writer. His heart appeared in every word he shared here.

To do something a little different, I took one of August's recent posts- a free verse poem called 'Stars', from May 19 of this year (2021) - and used it as my base/muse. I hoped to create a poem that might honor August and comfort the family.

His poem, in its entirety, is below:

STARS
by crzypnter

Stars linger...
like the memory
of their
light...
Each a dazzling
glimmer of
hope...
Dancing
to entertain
a tangible
moon...
The sky
an endless
swimming
pool...
In which
testing feet
could always
find
warmth...
Eyes didn't
wrinkle...
Untouched...
by the type
of tears
capable... of
creating such
mournful
etches...
And a heart...
didn't allow
it's self to
be pierced
by presumed
cruelty...
Left to bleed
in only
shades of
bitterness...
As if the
stars...
somehow
dimmed to
black...
Embedded lines
coat the
skin...
Around eyes
blinded by
brutality...
Once left
able
to see
anything...
But the
feel of
a frozen
pool..,
Surrounding
a moon...that
ran too far
away to be
touched...
The stars
remain... but
they don't
work...
They just
linger...
Like the
memory
of their
light...

Chapter 3
For August's family

By royowen

I was so sorry to hear of August’s passing.  Knowing the pain his daughter is going through, all I can offer in the way of comfort are my prayers.

I didn’t know him well, but his poetry showed a very sensitive, caring, and loving man who wrote from his heart.  He portrayed emotions in his unique way, describing them very vividly, and making the reader feel them along with himself.

Now he has gone to his forever home, awaiting all who cared for him, sharing his wonderful talent with all the saints in Heaven.

Chapter 4
~ His Spirit Soared ~

By royowen

Author Note:~ In Memory of Crzypntr ~ RIP ~

As life closed in, he heard the call,
a quiet man whose words enthrall.
He penned his thoughts upon the page ~
recites them now on Heaven's stage.

A man of faith whom all believed,
he loved this land his God conceived.
His words live on, they'll never age ~
recites them now on Heaven's stage.

Despite his pain, he still was game.
His spirit soared ~ God called his name.
His words were true, he was a sage ~
recites them now on Heaven's stage.

Chapter 6
Beloved Poet

By royowen

He wrote his verse with vision from the heart;
like Lady Wisdom cried out on the street.
A self-confessed romantic with his art,
he raised his poet's pen without conceit.

He made the night more colourful than day,
transforming darkness to eternal light.
He painted words with stars so far away,
and Drops of Jupiter in brilliant white.

So often it's the quiet ones we miss--
their stoic reservation calms our fears.
And now that Earth has claimed her final kiss,
he's left the Concrete Jungle's painful years.

Yet still as our friend, August, always knew,
a rainbow's shining overhead it's true.

Author Notes Drops of Jupiter and The Concrete Jungle are references to two of August's poems. I found that August wrote in an inspired and transformative way. From political to personal perspectives, God's part in his writing was always present as he felt he wrote his best work when he let the spirit lead him because then he knew it was only him being used an instrument.

That said, no matter how much we think we know another person, there will always be missing pieces. But what is known for sure is that August will be sorely missed in our FanStory community.

Many thanks to you for reading.

Chapter 7
Celebrating August's Quill

By royowen

Though August’s heat has come and gone
As Fall has dawned
Of poet bold
My friends have told

This August wrote of human pain
His words remain
His solace gave
Beyond the grave

Some think that death is just the end
It’s not, my friend,
With heaven’s quill
He’s writing still

Author Notes Note:
I never had the pleasure of interacting with crzypntr, but my friends on this site have. From reading their tributes and reading his poems now, I feel like I have met him. So glad he was part of our Fanstory family.

Chapter 8
For August

By royowen

I did not know you in this life--
somehow our paths had never crossed.
Your free verse spoke of joy and strife--
Oh, kindred soul, I feel your loss.

Your poetry is framed in blue--
pristinely etched upon the page.
I've read, August, pieces of you--
Your love, your joy, your pain and rage.

All mortals face one destiny--
the hands of time come to a still.
Yet, words last for eternity--
So many hearts you've yet to fill!

I'm sorry that we did not meet--
while both of us were here to write.
Within my prayers I will entreat--
our God to place you in my sight.

We know not when, but we know where--
Our faith allows our souls to soar!
May angels help me find you there--
Until then, I shall read you more...

Author Notes My condolences to August's daughter, Amber-- To all of his family and friends, and to those here on FanStory who had the good fortune to know him. I have read every poem he posted before writing this simple tribute. His poetry was powerful and eloquent.

On 12/11/13 (The year he joined FanStory)--August wrote a poem titled "My Destiny." To honor his memory I'd like to share a passage of that poem here, in his memory:

"My Bible in hand I know the time is coming
for me to be called away

To a place of peace and harmony filled
with beautiful days

Leaving this earth, never again
to be alone

Traveling through time in His
arms to my new home."

Chapter 9
Tribute to Crzypntr

By royowen

A fellow poet - Carpenter for Christ -

His concern for others did suffice.

He paved the way to help those in need...

Entrusted by God, he took the lead.

His works on Earth will follow him -

The love he has shown won't grow dim.

He labored for Christ - work well done.

His new life with Christ has just begun.

His loving soul has taken flight

Soaring into God's stunning light.

Triumphant call from God above -

Led August home in peace and love.

Author Notes Many thanks to Roy Owens for sharing with me how August started "Carpenters for Christ" and his love for helping others.

My prayers, sincere and deepest sympathy are with his family and friends.
May God comfort you during this difficult time and keep you in His loving care.

Revelations 14:13

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Chapter 10
Godspeed, August

By royowen

Godspeed, August

As I read August’s last poem and down through his portfolio I found his words so unvarnished and abruptly honest though tinged with a sadness and a wisdom only pain can provide when it is tempered by God.

The body is fragile and must rest but his spirit and words will live on. Unencumbered by pain and doubt, this kind and gentle spiritual warrior will surely be writing on the rim of Heaven of the glories he finds there.

August, I only wish I would have had the pleasure of your friendship in the here and now but feel an unmistakable kinship with you beyond the bonds of time.

Godspeed to this ‘Carpenter for Christ’…who built orphanages, shelters and worship centers. He is surely in a

place of healing now where his soul is forever free.

Chapter 11
We'll Not Forget.

By royowen

A thousand words, or more, were penned
before his life came to an end,
of joy and love, of pain and tears
of feelings felt throughout the years.

His life had turned to those in need;
compassion showed, was guaranteed.
So full of love, so pure of heart;
his kindness was way off the chart.

He always thought of others first
brought meals on wheels, stayed and conversed.
He often walked that extra mile
replacing sadness with a smile.

An act of evil took his life
away from family and wife.
For twenty-years he carried pain
until God took him home again.

We’ll always miss you, August—yet
your words ensure—we’ll not forget.

Author Notes I'm sorry it took so long to write my tribute to our Fanstorian brother. I found it quite hard to say all I wanted to. My deepest sypathies go out to his family.
RIP August.

Chapter 12
Somewhere

By royowen

{Somewhere}

There is a place
not far from here,
where promises are kept
in clear blue skies.

I see you there
and smile once more...
although it's not my time.

I'm happy now,
for you are whole--
your pains removed
and burdens gone.

Our Savior's arms,
a place of rest,
and peace is all you'll ever know
in the great somewhere.

Author Notes Run with God, dear August. I will catch up in the place called Somewhere.

Chapter 13
August in Perpetuity

By royowen

I didn't have the honor of knowing August in life. I perused his portfolio yesterday and was blown away; August's stunning poetry is reminiscent of that of Theodore (Tim) McDowell, one of our finest poets.

Through the power of collective prayer, we have ensured that August's portfolio will be preserved, notwithstanding that the Lord of Storyland demanded payment in earthly currency. (The tab has been paid; name withheld to protect the culprit.)

Condolences to August's daughter, Amber.

Author Notes Geometric Rainbow by our eternal Angelheart.

Rest in Peace to both.
