"Sojourner In A Finite Space"

Prologue
Contemplations

By JLR

What if I have been here on this plane before?
In this finite vessel, my body, my Friend what lessons will I learn that need to be learned to the degree that I KNOW that I have learned the lesson before me?
How would I react to seeing or even so fortunate to converse with an angel?
Will I be prepared to cross over the "thin space" from finite realms to infinite realms of unending possibilities?

This year, 2021, I intend to amass a compilation of many curious thoughts, expressions, experiences that come upon me through the words I publish in Free verse or any other myriad inflections of poetic styles that touch me deeply.

I hope that you find some small gems that may spark your thinking and perhaps even motivate you to write your muses also.

Author Notes In the brief lifetime living in this body, during this segment measured in 25,550 of earth days, I realize that I can't write down a single human emotion that I have not experienced at one time or another. I do wonder, if other people were really self-honest could they say the same?

Chapter 2
God's Restorative Power

By JLR

Close your eyes....
breathe in and catch the top
of this inhale,

Slowly let your exhale
carry your soul deep....
mindless of time, thought,
or objective,
allow for the space to open
into a sea of sparkling,
twinkling strands of light.

Let each sparkling ray,
glow from its infinite place in the depths of space
directly into your minds-eye
and capture the essence of your true Nature
being lovingly restored, enhancing balancing your
whole Beingness...

Then once filled with abundant light,
renewed...revved-up, rejoiceful,
come back to earth;
to serve and spread the good cheer
of your internal sparkle...
SPARKLE!

Chapter 3
Mountain repose

By JLR

Air so pure the mountains appear so near
One would surely hate to fall prostrate here,
crushing fragile meadow flower so dear.

I find a rock and stuff my meerschaum pipe
while away the day away from the hype
where often in town they just frown and gripe!

The sun begins to show its final beams
I cast off my repose in hazy dreams
begin the trek back across yonder streams.

'twas good to spend some time alone, a wee cry
to begin the year, starting with a sigh.
knowing in the village friends are nearby..,
