"Songs Without Music"

Chapter 1
You Are My Song

By fm wright

You are the rhythm of my heart beating.
You are the chorus that keeps repeating.
You are the melody I can't get out of my mind.
United, we strike the chords that are ever entwined.

You and I, as a duet belong,
for you, and you only, are my song.

Together we create a symphony,
blending into one sweet harmony;
composing music that never goes out of style
as we stay in tune, each note played,all the while.

You and I, as a duet belong,
for you, and you only, are my song.

Without you my sonata is off key,
and there is no zeal in my rhapsody.
You and me could be the kind of which ballads are made;
so let not our rapture into decrescendo fade.

You and I, as a duet belong,
for you, and you only, are my song.

Author Notes Appreciation goes out to Miranda Langston for use of the beautiful artwork.

Chapter 4
Reign in My Heart

By fm wright

Once my world revolved around me:
my wants and desires were all I could see.
When my world torn apart , did fall;
It was then I thought I lost it all,
but I met You and was entranced,
for You gave unto me a second chance.

Lord, reign in my heart,
yes, reign in my heart.
Thy love to impart,
let reign in my heart.

Prayerfully in grace I will grow,
as upon others many blessings bestow;
putting their needs before my own,
and thus for past selfishness atone:
showing them as You have shown me
the virtues of faith, hope and charity.

Lord, reign in my heart,
yes, reign in my heart.
Thy love to impart,
let reign in my heart.

Author Notes Always praying to be more and more like Jesus every day. A thank you must go out to wrjart for use of the artwork.

Chapter 5
God's Kid

By fm wright

Whenever I'm in trouble or whenever I'm in need
I just go to my Father and humbly I do plead.
Though He doesn't always answer yes, or sometimes not right away
there's no doubt He cares for what I have to say:

'cause I'm God's kid, God's kid;
I'll shout it to the sky.
I'm God's kid, yes God's kid;
I'll see Him bye and bye.

Whenever people ask if like my dad I want to be,
I tell them that if they knew Him I'd hope that they would see
that by the way in which I live my life that they would know for sure
that I'm made in the image of my Father:

'cause I'm God's kid, God's kid;
I'll shout it to the sky.
I'm God's kid, yes God's kid;
I'll see Him bye and bye.

The good news is that because Jesus died and rose again
all who desire can jointly be heirs with Him;
and so we bearing grateful find our thoughts towards heaven winging,
as you gather with me in praise while singing:

'cause I'm God's kid, God's kid;
I'll shout it to the sky.
I'm God's kid, yes God's kid;
I'll see Him bye and bye.

Author Notes The title and idea came from a church member who would always proclaim those words. Also, a big thanks to helvi2 for the use of the artwork.

Chapter 6
Promised Too Soon

By fm wright

I accepted his ring way too fast;
believing our love would forever last:
that a simple little band of gold
meant things between us would never grow cold.
But life has proven this to be wrong,
yet it is to him that I still belong.

If I had known there would come a day
that you would be coming my way
I would have no doubt thought it over carefully
before making a pledge so hastily.
But now there is nothing that I can do;
knowing that this affects more than just us two.
As much as I would like to change the tune
I now know that I have made a promise too soon.

I told her that I would be hers always
and that from her side I would never stray.
I meant this to be forever more:
a fact that I just can't choose to ignore.
Though I've vowed to remain forever true
that doesn't change my feelings for you.

If I had known there would come a day
that you would be coming my way
I would have no doubt thought it over carefully
before making a pledge so hastily.
But now there is nothing that I can do;
knowing that this affects more than just us two.
As much as I would like to change the tune
I now know that I have made a promise too soon.

With the two of us here all alone
there's many a wild seed that could be sown.
If we give into temptation's lust
and thus breaking with them our vows of trust
great heartaches could lay just up ahead
and yet deeper ones could result instead.

If we had known there would come a day
when we would be coming each other's way
we would have no doubt thought it over carefully
before making pledges so hastily.
But now there is nothing that we can do;
knowing this affects more than just us two.
As much as we would like to change the tune
we now know we have made promises too soon.

Author Notes This was actually inspired by Reba's "One Promise Too Late." Appreciation goes out to HERsecretLOVE for use of the artwork.

Chapter 7
Fated to Pretend

By fm wright

Here I sit at a table for two
Feelin the bluest shade of blue
Wishing you were there across from me
And that things were as they used to be

Am I fated to pretend you're still in my life
and that we are still man and wife.
Am I fated to pretend nothing has changed
though to each other no longer chained;
our love having reached the end:
am I fated to pretend?

Here I sit like a king on a throne
without a queen to call my own
searching in vain for rhyme or reason
why once was a pair has now become one

REFRAIN

We have gone from sharing the same bed
to sleeping separately instead
though making believe we've not parted,
and that neither's been left broken hearted

REFRAIN

Author Notes These song lyrics are based on feelings that might be left after a divorce. Also appreciation goes out to avmurray for use of the artwork.

Chapter 8
The Simple Life

By fm wright

Let's leave this crowded city behind:
forsaking this life of bump and grind.
Let's find a place out in the country
where we can truly be happy.

Let's get back to the simple life:
a loving man and a loving wife
just getting back to the simple life
where there's no stress and there's no strife.
Let's get back to the simple life.

Let's give up all this unneeded noise
and rid ourselves of the fancy toys.
Let's forgo all that the world treasures
by pursuing common pleasures.

Let's get back to the simple life:
a loving man and a loving wife
just getting back to the simple life
where there's no stress and there's no strife.
Let's get back to the simple life.

Let's give up all of our pretenses
and regain back our common senses.
When it comes to tallying the cost
we'll have gained much more than we've lost.

Let's get back to the simple life:
a loving man and a loving wife
just getting back to the simple life
where there's no stress and there's no strife.
Let's get back to the simple life.

Author Notes I wrote the words to go as a country song but my original thought was about a possible cause of stress in anyone's life.

Chapter 9
Because He Conquered the Grave

By fm wright

Because He conquered the grave
my life won't have been in vain.
Because He conquered the grave
I have faith that He will come again.

He endured the cross then was laid in the tomb.
On the third day He rose like the sun
assuring me that the victory was won;
turning to joy that which once was gloom.

Because He conquered the grave
I can have eternity.
Because He conquered the grave
I can stand upon that glassy sea.

He endured the cross then was laid in the tomb.
On the third day He rose like the sun
assuring me that victory was won;
turning to joy that which once as gloom.

Author Notes Embodiment of my beliefs.

Chapter 10
Before the Seventh Trumpet Sounds

By fm wright

The harvest is ripe, but indeed, the laborers are few;
therefore dear brothers and sisters here is what we should do:
we must get out and go about spreading God's gospel word,
for the three message must assuredly be heard.

As more than ever there's a great work that yet abounds
to be accomplished before the seventh trumpet sounds.

It needs to reach every people, kindred, nation and tongue;
so all will know that the hour of God's judgement has come:
telling worship Him that made heaven, the earth and the sea.
Also the fountains of waters which flow forth so freely.

As more than ever there's a great work that yet abounds
to be accomplished before the seventh trumpet sounds.

While a second angel cries out that Babylon's fallen,
this is no time for the ransomed of God to be stallin':
for she incited all those willing to be led astray,
by causing deviance in worship of God's holy day.

As more than ever there's a great work that abounds
to be accomplished before the seventh trumpet sounds.

And a third angel came after them speaking in a loud voice;
warning those who worship the beast will pay dear for their choice:
emphasizing those who receive a mark in their head or hand
will be kept by God's wrath from entering the promised land.

As more than ever there's a great work that abounds
to be accomplished before the seventh trumpet sounds.

So for the saints who observe all the commandments of God,
and diverging not one iota from the path they trod;
while in the faith of Jesus patiently move ever on:
for in gathering souls there are still many to be won.

As more than ever there's a great work that abounds
to be accomplished before the seventh trumpet sounds.

Author Notes This I paraphrased from the book of Revelation.

Chapter 11
No Prayer Goes Unanswered

By fm wright

In a solemn kneeling position
with my head bowed and tightly closed eyes
I humbly present my position;
expecting it to be realized.

Could it be possible that God had not heard?
That it wasn't true no prayer goes unanswered.

Once again falling on bended knee;
repeating the previous request:
that when pouring out my earnest plea
it does sound from the east to the west.

Could it be possible that God had not heard?
That it wasn't true no prayer goes unanswered.

When a reply doesn't seem to come;
though it is beseeched day after day
I soon come to feel extremely glum
to the point of being most dismayed.

Could it be possible that God had not heard?
That it wasn't true no prayer goes unanswered.

I'm not sure when it first came to be;
as a greater outcome has been wrought.
Its precise advent I failed to see
for I was granted more than I sought.

No, it's not possible that God had not heard;
for I know now that no prayer goes unanswered.

Author Notes Something I've come to learn about prayers and them getting answered. Also appreciation goes out to VMarguarite for use of the artwork.

Chapter 12
No Do Overs

By fm wright

I said some things that were most unkind:
the hurt it's caused at my heart does grind.
I don't know how it got so out of hand:
from a simple spark a flame was fanned.
I played with fire and you got burned,
but from it all I have learned:

while it may be like a box of Russell-Stovers
in life there are simply no do overs.

The day you were abruptly taken
was when I was rudely awakened;
for I cannot get it out of my head
that the words I love you were left unsaid.
Past regrets have upon me returned:
because of this I have learned:

while it may be like a box of Russell-Stovers
in life there are simply no do overs.

Author Notes It's happened with me more than once that I have left words unsaid to my regret and that no matter how much I want to be able to change things I cannot go back and do it over.

Chapter 13
Not Just Another Love Song

By fm wright

If I could compose a love song,
I would write it because of you.
It would tell of feelings that were strong;
coming from a heart that's ever true.

Not just another love song would I write;
so beautiful would be the melody.
Its chorus would be of purest delight,
blended together in sweet harmony.

If I could compose a love song,
the words would be sheer poetry;
citing that to the other belong,
for with you, is where I long to be.

Not just another love song would I write;
so beautiful would be the melody.
Its chorus would be of purest delight,
blended together in sweet harmony.

If I could compose a love song,
based upon what you mean to me;
then its lyrics I could not get wrong,
nor orchestrate its notes out of key.

Not just another love song would I write;
so beautiful would be the melody.
Its chorus would be of purest delight,
blended together in sweet harmony.

Author Notes Appreciation goes out to cleo85 for use of this piece entitled "Claire de Lune."
