Chapter 5
The Gambler

By Bucketlist

Warning: The author has noted that this contains the highest level of sexual content.

He'd just won $50,000 at Roulette. After some drinking, he hired an escort service pair of twins for the night in the penthouse suite, overlooking the lights of Las Vegas.
Pretty soon, the first of the voluptuous twins was licking and caressing his eager body, while the second naked twin was waiting to spank 'bad boys'.
Just as his red hot 'poker' was burning a fifth time, he felt warm breath on his feet, and he rolled onto the hairbrush with which he had 'been spanked'.
" Wake up" said a harsh voice " Take the dog out, and go to work"

Chapter 7
Travel

By Bucketlist

It began with my husband's transfer to Italy for a 3 year assignment. We had just flown in from the States on a 7 1/2 hour flight. We were tired, had luggage, two young children , and could not speak the language. The airport was on a strip of land across water from Venice. We had to transfer from there to the canals by bus. After a laborious bus ride we got off and headed for the water taxis. They would take us across to Venice itself, so we could find a hotel for the night.

It was getting darker, and we were sitting in the front of the rocking 'dock' to wait for the water taxi. We were looking forward to being in romantic Venice. Everything was calm, until suddenly the water taxi pulled up to the dock. Out of nowhere came a talking, laughing, rushing crowd of people. Instead of the calm boarding, all bedlam broke loose. Pushing and shoving, the crowd surged past us into the taxi boat. We were several feet behind them picking up our scattered luggage. The driver would not wait. He raced the boat into mid canal across to 'romance city' leaving us bewildered, abandoned, and alone on the 'dock.'

It was the end of the Italian work day. I learned very quickly how 'laid back' Italians turned into frantic ill mannered folk when any public transport is used. There is no such thing as a line or order in Italy! There were yet many lessons to learn (not all bad) about Italian life!

Bedlam broke loose - means chaos
Laid back - easy going, patient

Chapter 8
DC Experience

By Bucketlist

Several years ago,in the middle of winter, I was in DC to see family. The beautiful capital brought thoughts of great people, luxury life styles, politics and comfort. In the day, hustle and bustle of the political arena brought tourists busily exploring the Smithsonian museum, the tour buses busy with eager photo taking visitors. Each evening, culture and fine cuisine offered socialites pleasure.

One day realization came to me. One of the richest cities and our nations capital, glossed over the needs of so many. I was going to get breakfast one morning, not too far from city center. There, in the park opposite, the homeless drunks, mentally ill, and druggies were on the move. One woman in particular caught my attention, she seemed so tired and dejected.

"I'm going to give her some food and and a warm drink" I said

"NO, you're not ! She will throw it at you, or attack you" my partner replied.

Needless to say, I took. her hot chocolate, and a sandwich. The look of gratitude on that woman's face is etched in my memory. "Bless you", she said.

That same night, there were sub zero temperatures. As we went across town I saw bodies in scant blankets sleeping over the heating grates to keep warm. Trouble was that the steam made the blankets damp at best.

That trip taught me the facade of our capital wealthy city. It's no kinder than any other city.

Chapter 9
Granny Smith

By Bucketlist

Granny, but old - no way!! I dress very sharply in all green, unlike the sweet, rosy cheeked, red varieties. I hang from a tree in 'Juicy Orchards' Pipsville. My flesh is crisp, I have a nicely rounded body, and still hold my shape. My smooth skin is tight, my acidity keeps my body white. I make a good tart - hot, or cold.. If whipped cream is spread over me it lessens my sharp attitude. I stay 'green with envy' when you eat other types.Try a nibble, otherwise BITE ME!

Chapter 10
A Beach Story

By Bucketlist

The girl sauntered onto the beach very early. There was tranquility which was only interrupted by the soothing sound of the tide . It swelled gently up, and then fell quickly back into foam. Her personal life had not passed without some problems lately, and she welcomed the solitude. As she walked along barefooted, the cool sand was almost sensually embracing to her toes.

There was very little sign of life that is the hustle and bustle of human existence. However, different echelons were busy. Tiny crabs scuttled along the shoreline searching for food. Or maybe they were trying to elude the occasional gull which circled above. Too, there were the universal flies alighting on anything that looked like it was decomposing or garbage. This beach was relatively clean compared to any others she had seen. The odd piece of litter seemed incongruous with the usual busy life cycle

The light breeze gently pushed back her flowing hair, and the warmth from the rising sun lightly touched her skin. She closed her eyes momentarily and felt good to be alive. As she opened her eyes again, she caught sight of one of the beach bar owners in the distance. He was preparing for the day by putting up colorful umbrellas which would provide relief from the sun's probing fingers later on. The breeze fanned a briny scent across the beach. She inhaled deeply, and headed toward the bar.

The ships on the horizon looked like ducks in a shooting gallery - a clever trick of vision, she thought. The sun, like a paper orange, was pressed against a light blue sky. There were a few cotton puff clouds floating harmlessly across it. As she walked along, it occurred to her that the fascinating part of the beach was the mystery of it ,and the ocean. No one knew what secrets the ocean kept. Many pieces of sentimental and monetary value from decades past could be held by the seemingly benign sand. When she reached the bar, she entered and ordered a cup of coffee. The owner looked at her approvingly as he handed back her change with the cup. She took a place outside, and while enjoying the frothy Cappuccino, she perused the beach. She savored everything that her sensory system registered.

In a couple of hours the beach came alive with the sound of children's laughter. They built sandcastles, and played at the edge of the foam offered them by the tide. Their guardians would read, or soak up the morning sun. Later, when the sun became too warm for little bodies, they would go home. Then the ' beautiful' people would appear- semiclad in seductive pieces and minuscule beachwear. Neither of these were designed for much movement, or swimming. The beach would be littered with Romeos - all attentive to their partners until a bigger challenge walked by.

Lunchtime brought relief back to the beach until the tourists appeared from their hotels. There would be the French with their neat bodies and Mediterranean tans. Some of the Germans boasted firm bodies, others wore size 5 swimwear trying to support size 18 figures. There would also be the English who looked like white bread in a sea of toast.

After dinner was another good time to enjoy the beach ,while it recovered from the day's traffic. As the sun went slowly down , it cast a pink shroud over the water, which glistened in the fading light. The sky would have a pink glow as radiant as a satiated women's face. The heat would remain in the sand for some time, until night spread anonymity over everything. Even then, the beach held many secrets of lovers lost in their own oblivion.

She drained the last foam from her cup, and headed back. Now, the early morning fishermen were sorting their catch for the local market. Their craggy weathered faces grinned as if they maybe knew some of the ocean's secrets. As she reached the point where she had joined the beach, she took one more look. Then, feeling the new life inside her kicking, she turned and headed back to the apartment. Yes, she thought, the beach was for everyone. She would return very soon.

Chapter 11
The Race

By Bucketlist

Brett sat among the others (30 in all) waiting for the race to start. He was near the back of the group, but his determination would conquer all, he thought. It was a very hot, humid day, and the air was laden with the smell of fuel. The noise of the revving engines infiltrated through the window. The excitement built up inside him as he had images of the trophy he was going to claim. That same summer he had entered several races, each one more challenging than the previous ones.

Suddenly, the race began and his shiny blue car screeched off. Brett deftly manipulated the gear shift to increase speed. He leaned with the car on the bends as if he was willing the machine to take each one as tightly as it could. He favored the inside track as it showed his prowess at controlling the sleek car. The heat built up and his clothes felt sticky but everything was worth the discomfort he promised himself.
As he overtook three cars on the fourth lap, the engine was humming at top speed. His adrenaline was surging. Gliding into second place made the trees seemed to fly by, and race fans' faces melted into a blur. He could see the heat shimmering off the track , making it appear wet. All types of thoughts tried to invade his concentration but they were quickly dismissed by Brett. Nothing would stop his path to fame -certainly not this time THIS race was going to be his.
He sped past the manmade crash barriers housing a couple of overturned heaps, and up the straight. At least the very next lap would be the final lap to victory. As he raced along he looked challenging at the driver next to him - his only real rival. He slammed the accelerator down to the floor to force every last pulse out of the throbbing engine. Then he leaned even further over at the final bend.He was coming up the home straight in first place and could see the checkered flag approaching when a large shadow fell onto the car.
He heard a voice say "Brett Robinson, stop wriggling about, take off your cap, and put that ruler down. I know that it's hot in here and the traffic outside is very distracting. Do try and concentrate." He looked up, and meekly said "Yes, Miss Williams "

Chapter 13
Between

By Bucketlist

Rising into popcorn clouds
Below me buildings ran away
Wind whistled past the wings

The sun lowering in sight

Streaks of purple, rose and gold
Filled my eyes with magic hues

As daylight dwindled down
Darkness spread in eerie sheets
Stars and moon on canvas bright

A cry of busy roosting birds

The Earth became a watery abyss
A dotted outline of countries far

Time in space became blurred
Melting reality with fantasy.......

A mechanical bed in motion
Surrounded by air
Sleep overcame thoughts
While time passed

Later
Clouds smiled and hurried by
Activity began
Movement disturbed the Zen
Calm became trampled by feet

As man's bird lowered down
The world became a bigger place

My journey was almost complete

Chapter 14
Vacation

By Bucketlist

Train trips made me happy
As we packed to go to the sea.
Cases with clothes for ten days
We left home in dawn's early haze
We saw cows in the fields graze
The steam train puffed its way
Past urban sprawl early that day

On and on the train still went
Blew its whistle, a frequent event
We ate food mum brought along
Subtle aromas never too strong
I fell asleep, four hours was long
The steam train puffed its way
Past urban sprawl early that day

Once in the hotel dad had booked
Ate good meals all home cooked
For nine days I played in the sand
I built sand castles, oh so grand!
Shops and the zoo were planned
The steam train puffed its way
Past urban sprawl early that day

Chapter 14
Wishes

By Bucketlist

The dark haired girl always demanded more.

She demanded to have blonde hair. She had a pony, but wanted a horse. Whenever she saw a butterfly, she wanted wings, and thought it unfair she could not fly.

One day, she got a mysterious package.

As soon as she'd opened it, she flung it into the air and screamed "I don't want this stupid figurine. Make it go away and never come back."

Instantly, she felt strange feelings as her body morphed into a blond-feathered winged unicorn.

She flew off, whinnying, " I don't want this,"......but no one was listening.

Chapter 15
Fanstory Frog

By Bucketlist

In the pond, frog spawn was hatching. As the tadpoles grew, there was something different about one of them.

When the time came for the tadpoles to develop into frogs, he sprouted bat wings. Next, came horns and sharp teeth. He then resembled a gargoyle.

Mythical, mystical, and rejected by the others, he was ridiculed and taunted by them,

"Come on, you wanna fight or fly away? Bring it on, FREAK!"

One day he read, 'The Lilly Pad News'. It told of frogs in the chemical factory's pond spawning mutant offspring. Sadly, he remembered his father had grown up there.

Author Notes In architecture, a gargoyle is a carved or formed grotesque figure

Chapter 16
Stranger

By Bucketlist

Landscape as far as an eye can see
Cheekbones undulate into a hill

Big sad tears leak into a brook
Flowing down over her nose bridge

Eyelashes make a protective swirl
In case the winds cross the brow

Views change with a blink of an eye
Maybe she’s alien to keep an eye on us

She appears larger than life
Or is she just an optical illusion?

Chapter 17
Two Friends

By Bucketlist

“Look! The sun is sleeping, that’s not right,” said the dog to the cat.“It’s fine”
retorted the cat with a laugh. “ Never!” dog said in a sneering tone.

“It’s because you two are in the land of make believe” groaned the old trees,  “It’s whatever you want to think.”
“ We think it’s the moon that’s sleeping now,” the argumentative mountains mumbled.

So, the two caring friends hugged and agreed to differ.
“We waft by each morning “whispered the mists,“They’re yellow, and they share the sky, but it’s the sun that’s waking up when we’re there”
The boughs of the trees  listened and shook their fingers in agreement.

Chapter 41
Mistaken Identity

By Bucketlist

"Hear Ye, Hear Ye" , bellowed the Town Crier, and the headlines streamed, NIGHT PROWLER CAUGHT.

In the quiet hamlet of Scarewell there had been unrest. Something was disturbing their nights.

Jenny was visiting relatives, and heard the commotion about strange noises at night.

In this normally quiet, safe, community where doors were never locked, there were rumors of a prowler.

She went to bed but, was too curious to sleep.

In the middle of the night, she heard scratching noises. She shone her flashlight around, and laughed when she saw the 'prowler'.

A prickly Hedgehog foraging for food!

The Hangover

Whoa! Why is the world spinning
Hold on tight
I knew we should not have
Been drinking all night

Can't you stand up straight?
Hang on! The bough's tipping
Maybe it's too late
Oh! my pounding head
Let's cling on and sleep
Before we fall off
And crash to the street

Chapter 43
The 40 Day Cruise

By Bucketlist

It's said we all have a double
Somewhere in the world
But the critters didn't have to search
Noah was directed to take them all,
two by two, to safety from the flood
Aboard the boat named the ARC.

Well, 'opposites attract' means behind
The other person's looks.

"You're just like me" each pair declared

"We are so identical"

But once on the crowded Arc
The tension began to count
As any couple can tell you
Not enough personal time
then bickering will mount

"There's not much space,"

Groaned the the elephant's wife

"I told you to book extra space
don't just stand there, move!"

"Huh!", said the giraffe indignantly

"How can I reach down easily
Into the hull to eat, when
All these critters crowd the space
And get in the way of my feet?"

"That's too funny", the Hyenas cackled.

The pigs were happy in ‘doo' doo‘

The skunks protested that others tried
To stay away from their 'heavenly' scent

Then it became a problem when
the elephants tried to move

"You should be on a diet," the cows mooood
"This is udderly ridiculous"

"We're sinking!"

Shrieked the animals in the bow
As the zebras began to slide.

"Stop swaying" commanded the sheep

"You're making us dizzy and I feel sick"

There was no place to go
The Arc swayed to and fro
Too many animals packed on the boat
All needing something diverse
The forty days then became a curse.

It became a gripe session
Discontent of other animals' ways
Which soon turned into accusations
Between couples lacking personal space
Individuality appeared as irritation
And bickering filled the days

Chapter 44
Plane trip

By Bucketlist

The plane was flying above the soft fluffy clouds.

Rob was watching "The Bermuda Triangle" when he saw flashes of lightning in the distance and heard thunder. He felt tense.

He was about to be served by a cute flight attendant, when there was turbulence. The plane dipped, and he felt himself falling off his seat into the aisle.

A strong commanding voice said,

" Get off the floor! You left the TV on all night AGAIN, you're late for work."
