Chapter 1
Earl's Lists 2

By Earl Corp

When I was a kid there was a book called the Book of Lists. There were all kinds of lists about everything under the sun from sports records to serial killers. There was a list of the most prominent poltergeist hauntings and a list of the most popular sexual positions.

In the back of the book there was an address in which we could submit our own lists for the next book. I always wanted to send in some lists but I never did because I didn't have enough confidence in my writing skills.

I got to thinking about it so I decided to devise some lists just for kicks and grins; here is what I came up with so far.

5 Foods I Won't Eat

1. Squash- I don't like the consistency or the taste of it.
2. Tuna fish- The smell and taste of it. You can't hide it no matter how you cook it.
3. Brussel sprouts- The first time I remember throwing up is from eating brussel sprouts.
4. Baked beans- I don't care how much you doctor them up I can't stand the taste or consistency.
5. Liver and onions- The smell. If I don't like the smell of something I won't eat it.

The Worst Movies I Have Ever Seen or Two Hours I'll Never Get Back

1. Waterworld- the only redeeming factor about this bomb is this is the first movie that Anna and I saw together. It's too long with a weak plot.
2. Robin Hood Men in Tights- How can a Mel Brooks movie suck this bad. But it does.
3. Bicentennial Man- Usually Robin Williams humor shows through, not this one. It's kind of like a Pinocchio with robots.
4. Wyatt Earp- Kevin Costner was so worried about being historically accurate it made the movie too long and too boring
5. Dumb and Dumber- I felt like my IQ had lowered 20 points by the time the credits rolled.

5 Jobs I Would Never Like to Have

1. Cafeteria Worker- No matter what you do you won't make everybody happy.
2. A state social worker for Children and Youth- I did this for two years and it sucked. This is a good way to see the underbelly of your community.
3. A Dog Catcher- It's not so much having to catch the animals as put them down, I don't think I could do that.
4. School Bus Driver- This is pure pandemonium. If you want to make money driving something become a long haul trucker. You might be gone a lot but the peace and quiet is worth it.
5. Kindergarten teacher- I had to do this once as a substitute teacher. I would rather do a combat tour in Afghanistan

Chapter 2
Keeping the balls in the air

By Earl Corp

Some people pointed out in my first chapter all my lists were negative. I'm trying not to be a negative person and I already had devised a positive list so I had to come up with a couple more to make it worthwhile to post again. So here we go:

5 Books I would take to a deserted island with me.

1. The 13th Valley by John Delvecchio- this is a novel of the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and one of my favorites of all time.
2. Battle Cry by Leon Uris- The Marines in World War II. The writing is so vivid when I read about the mosquitoes buzzing around them I started swatting at them in study hall in February.
3. Helter Skelter by Vincent Bulgiosi- The Charles Manson story. A change of pace from the war books.
4. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry- Possibly the greatest western ever written. At least one of the longest.
5. The Bible- My plan is read a book, read the Bible. I've heard that every time you read the Bible you learn something new.

5 best songs on your playlist for a motorcycle ride

1. The Long Run by the Eagles- Great tune
2. Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf- This will get the blood pumping
3. Fire Lake by Bob Seger- No playlist is complete without a Seger tune
4. Running on Empty by Jackson Browne - If it's good enough for the Forrest Gump soundtrack it's good enough for me.
5. Born to Be Wild by Steppenwolf- The ultimate ride song.
* Honorable Mention- Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen

5 sayings which survived my discharge from the Army

1. Good to go - It means you may proceed.
2. In a heartbeat- It means I'd do it so fast your head would spin
3. That's a lick on you- Kids don't get this but it makes them stop what they're doing and stare at you.
4. What're you up to, Slick?- This also will get you some stares from kids and adults alike.
5. Squared away - You've got everything taken care of and You're Good to Go.

More Lists Plus Contributed Lists

By Earl Corp

Musical Devices That Have Come and Gone in My Lifetime

1. 45 records- I loved 45s

2. 8 track tapes- these disappeared over night.

3. Cassette tapes- I actually thought these would never disappear, I still have 400 if anyone is interested.

4. Walkman players- These were great for exercising with.

5. Long Play record albums- I never thought these would go away.

* On the endangered list-CDs, digital music and the Cloud is making them obsolete.

Dangerous Things I Did When I was a Kid

1. Drank water out of a garden hose- Today water has to be run through 3 filtration systems and be bottled before kids can drink it.

2. Rode a bicyle without a helmet- Heaven forbid if somebody falls and gets a boo boo.

3. Walked to school by myself- I think my mom hoped I'd get snatched.

4. Sold stuff door to door- This is considered simply offering your kid up to a pervert nowadays.

5. Carried a pocket knife- We all did, and there weren't any mass stabbings

Reader Submitted Lists

5 Things Army Wives Should Know

1. Join a wives group. Be friendly. It offers friendships and opportunities to know other families .

2. Travel the area where you have been assigned. Do not miss your opportunities to

Sightsee while you are there... you may not come back that way again.

3. Get to know your Army Post quickly... your hubby is at work and you are on your
own to find where you need to be, especially when he is deployed.

4. Learn to share recipes, even if you do not cook much, it is a great way to start a
conversation and get to know someone

5. Learn to spot the clues.. for example, when a green beret comes home from work
wearing a camouflage cap, it is a sign he is going on a mission within a few hours
he is not allowed to talk about it with anyone. It is the wife's only clue.

More on Sandy L. Morrical

By Earl Corp

Just a little more on Sandy Morrical (Me).

Books:
I am not much of a reader. I like a book if I can't put it down. Pretty much anything from James Patterson or Stephen King.

Albums:
I am eclectic when it comes to music. I have my favorite songs and groups, but I listen to music on how my mood is. I do like Enigma for a easy flow of atmosphere.

TV Shows:
Star Trek. Yes I am a Trekie. My Son actually called me a Star Trek nerd when the new Star Trek came out and I was being very critical on it. When he found out I new the numbers that were on the ship, he called me a Star Trek nerd.

I watch a lot of shows on Paranormal stuff and I am an ID fan. That maybe why I write about killing in my fiction. Just thought of that,

Movies:
"The Green Mile"
"It"
"The Night of the Living Dead." The original
"The Thing."
"That Thing You Do."
I do like some chic flicks, but I am into mostly action movies or horror.

Poems"
"The Raven" Edgar Allen Poe
:"Lenore" Edgar Allen Poe
"An Enigma" Edgar Allen Poe

This just cuts into the surface of me. I am always open and honest. I have no problem answering questions about me, as long as it is helpful, and I don't fell it is too personal. To my friends I am an open book. I like doing these list.

Author Notes Just a little about me.

Chapter 12
Just When You Thought it Was Safe

By Earl Corp

Here we go again. I built up some writer bucks and cent pumps so I can add more lists. I appreciate the reception this has had on here. Please keep it up, I'd like to get 25 chapters before I close it out.

My Favorite Actors

1
. John Wayne- You can't beat the Duke. Nuff said.
2. Clint Eastwood- Whether he's a cowboy or a California detective cleaning up crime in his town, It's hard to think of a tougher guy than Clint.
3. Tom Hanks- I think he is easily one of the most versatile actors in Holly wood. From Big to Forrest Gump or being alone on a deserted island to searching war torn France for Private Ryan, Hanks has proven to have a lot of staying power. Not bad for a guy who started out on a second rate tv comedy Bosom Buddies.
4. Burt Reynolds- Burt could be funnier by accident than a lot of comedians who have to work at it.
5. Sylvester Stallone- I am old enough to have seen Rocky on its original run in the theaters. I have made a point to see every other movie he's been in.
6. Robert Redford- The first PF movie I was allowed to go by myself to the theater to see was Jeremiah Johnson. I'm also a big fan of the Sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid.
7. Paul Newman- Hey I think Slapshot is one of the most hilarious sports movies ever. His portrayal of Judge Roy Bean was also funny. I'm sure people won't like my choices for Newman movies. Well..... add your own lists.
8. Jimmy Stewart- The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and hung out with a six foot rabbit.
9. Henry Fonda- There Was a Crooked Man, the Cheyenne Social Club, the Rounders, and Mister Roberts are my favorites. I'm not Fonda daughter Jane though.
10. Robert Duvall- I've never seen a bad Duvall movie. His portrayal of Ned Pepper in True Grit was one of my favorites.

My Favorite Actresses

1. Maureen O'Hara- A great leading lady for John Wayne, Brian Keith, Henry Fonda and a host of others.
2. Liz Taylor- She played everything from Cleopatra to Fred Flintstone's mother --in law.
3. Mae West- I'd like to have gone up and seen her. She had all the junk in the right places.
4. Sally Field- from the Flying Nun to Norma Rae Sally was great. She should have married Burt Reynolds.
5. Julianne Moore- what can I say I'm a sucker for redheads.
6. Holly Hunter- I have never seen Holly Hunter in a bad role, except the Piano, I hated the Piano.
7. Sandra Bullock- Reminds you of the girl next door, somebody to hang out with.
8. Geena Davis- You just can't beat the last scene in Thelma and Louise. See number 5
9. Helen Mirren- There's something about a 57- year-old who will get naked on film you've got to admire.
10. Queen Latifah- I've liked her in everything I've seen her in.

My Favorite Ages So far
1. 17- I graduated high school, Army Basic Training, and became a man this year.
2. 25- I was probably in the best shape of my life then. Life was good, I was at Fort Campbell, made sergeant, and re-enlisted. If I could have froze any year this one was it.
3. 34- I met Anna and graduated college this year. Probably the best post Army year as far as life events go.
4. 49- Earned my Master's degree in Special Education. I went a lot farther in school than I ever expected or wanted to.
5. 55- I received my new hips and didn't need any devices to walk anymore.

Chapter 15
Bird Box

By Earl Corp

I just saw Bird Box on Netflix. Was by myself - no one to share it with. and as much as I hate scary movies, this was a good one - kept me in knots through the whole thing, but strangely, I liked it.

But now, I'd like to tell you about a movie I saw recently at the theater that was the best movie I have seen in years, called "Upside." That is one you should not miss. I absolutely loved it. It takes an unfortunate situation and has some hysterical scenes and lines. Great movie.

As far as favorite actors - I've always loved ole Gregory Peck - Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn, Big Country (I think) with Jean Simmons and Burl Ives, and The Guns of Navarrone, etc.
Also Ryan Gosling - even in the recent musical, La La Land or whatever it was.
I've always like Robert Duvall, too, and ole Tommy Lee Jones. I like Gerard Butler because he is just too cute!

Female Actresses - lessee - Sandra Bullock, Carol Burnett, Helen Mirren, Audrey and Katharine Hepburn, Judy Dench, I'm not fonda Jane, either - actually I used to like some I don't anymore because they have foul language when they get political - really ugly. don't go to see them anymore. as far as Sally Fields and Burt Reynolds, I think she would've married him in a minute, but I think he dumped her. I did like both of them. He was funny.

I'm a musical lover, and some old ones that I loved are Guys and Dolls, with Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra and Jean Simmons - terrific; Paint Your Wagon - Clint Eastwood, and Lee Marvin,
Camelot - Richard Harris and Vanessa Redgrave; Mary Poppins - I know, I know, but Dick van Dyke and Julie Andrews were wonderful; My Fair Lady, Sound of Music, Chicago - the movie, Music Man - the movie, The King and I with Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr, and others. Wonderful singers as well as actors (except for old Marlon - but he gave it a go.)
And that's about all I can come up with for now. will probably think of more during the night, but the brain has closed down for today.
Night, pome lover

Author Notes my lists added in Earl's book, though they're not complete. Why can't you think of people when you want to? Maybe later.

Chapter 16
My Favorite Horror Films

By Earl Corp

My Top 10 Favorite horror films:

1) ALIEN, directed by Ridley Scott: Basically JAWS...in outer space, where NO ONE can hear you scream.

2) The Exorcist, by William Peter Blatty: Two priests who were like peas in a pod...and loved pea soup.

3) JAWS, by Peter Benchly: The opening shark attack scene is one of the most terrifying scenes in cinema, and you don't really see anything!

4) MISERY, by Stephen King: When someone says to me, "I'm your number one fan," I run the other way very quickly!

5) The Sentinel, by Jeffrey Konvitz: A lesser known 1977 American supernatural horror film based on the 1974 novel of the same name.
The film stars Cristina Raines, Chris Sarandon, Ava Gardner, Burgess Meredith, Sylvia Miles, and Eli Wallach. It also features Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum, John Carradine, Jerry Orbach, Tom Berenger, Nana Visitor, and Beverly D'Angelo in supporting roles.
The plot focuses on a young model who moves into an historic Brooklyn brownstone that has been sectioned into apartments, only to find that its proprietors are excommunicated Catholic priests, and the building is a gateway to hell.
Creepy!

6) An American Werewolf in London, directed by John Landis: who also directed Michael Jackon's short film, THRILLER! This did for werewolf films what Clint Eastwood's spaghetti western, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, did for westerns. It put 'em on the map.

7) Full Metal Jacket, by Stanley Kubrick:
This film stars Matthew Modine, R. Lee Ermey, Vincent D'Onofrio and Adam Baldwin. The screenplay by Kubrick, Michael Herr, and Gustav Hasford was based on Hasford's novel The Short-Timers (1979). The storyline follows a platoon of U.S. Marines through their training, primarily focusing on two privates, Joker and Pyle, who struggle to get through boot camp under their abusive drill instructor, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, and the experiences of two of the platoon's Marines in the Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War. The film's title refers to the full metal jacket, or brass casings of bullets, used by soldiers. The film was released in the United States on June 26, 1987. It was the last of Kubrick's films to be released during his lifetime.

Full Metal Jacket received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for Kubrick

You think war is not horrifying?
Think again!

8) Psycho, written by Robert Bloch & directed by Alfred Hitchcock: Changed the face of showering forever!

9) John Carpenter's Halloween, writen & directed by John Carpenter: The night HE came home!

10) Night of the Living Dead, by George Romero: The low-budget beginnings of the Modern-era, big budget zombie fright flicks and television series.

Author Notes That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Chapter 19
Adding more about SL Morrical

By Earl Corp

I love all kinds of music.
This makes me eclectic for music. You could also say I am eclectic when it comes to movies. I love all genre.

My ancestry is strange and unusual, so I am strange and unusual. My mother's mother was a descendant of Spanish Gypsies. My Grandmother had the gift, and mom did have it as a child but denied it because of the era, and where she lived. I was always told to not acknowledge my heritage to avoid persecution. I embraced my heritage in silence. When I started to show signs of clairvoyance, my mom and dad took me to a shrink. I then decided not to tell anyone about anything like that. I denied my heritage and lost some of the gift. It sprouts up every once in a while.

My gift help me through the toughest times in my life. The times when I wanted to end my life because of issues that were going on in my life. I am thankful for this gift at that time. I still get deja vu, and my dreams at times come to fruition.

Working as a Hospice Nurse, I have been able to embrace my heritage again, and help patients and families at the end. Sometimes I do get the voices at that time,
the cold chills , and I do see flashes. The stories that I could tell from work are a book waiting to happen I think.

If anyone would like to know more about me please ask. I am an open book with nothing to hide.

Author Notes I'm an interesting person to some people. Scary to others and an angel to patients and families. My friends love my intuition, and come to me for help. I am a one of kind and I embrace that now.

Chapter 20
Since You Won't Submit- I will

By Earl Corp

My Top 10 Favorite horror films:

1)  Tarantula- this is a black and white movie from 1955 I saw when I was 11 and it scared the poop out of me.

2) The Exorcist- I watched this all by myself in a trailer on a windy night. There was an apple tree above the roof and the first time an apple hit the roof I almost had a heart attack.

3) This is Not a Test- A 1962 film about a group of people awaiting the arrival of a nuclear bomb.

4) The Day After- A movie about the aftermath of a nuclear bomb. Bet you can’t tell Nuclear Holocaust scares me.

5) The Sentinel- This is a movie from Dean Kuch’s list that I’ve seen. Aside from nuclear holocaust Satan scares me.

6) The Amityville Horror- I’d rank this one right up there with the Exorcist. Anytime you have demonic possession or a portal to Hell, I get sufficiently scared.

7) Poltergeist- The best part of the movie was seeing JoBeth Williams in her panties. The old guy creeped me out.

8) The Shining- The first and only time I watched this was at 2 a.m. on duty in Germany. I had to do an arms room check in the basement three floors down. Every time I turned a corner I kept expecting to see those two little girls.

9) It- This one got me two fold. First, it had a huge spider, second kids were being killed, I hate seeing that I usually turn the movie off at that point.

10) The Swarm- Beware the African bees. I think of all the horror films I’ve seen this one depicted the worst way to die.

My Favorite Comedy Duos:

  1. Cheech and Chong- Stoner comedy from the 70s. Sister Mary Elechant and Blind Melon Chitlin are my favorites. Don’t know them? Check’em out.
  2. Chris Farley and David Spade- These guys played off each other perfectly. Farley’s bumbling klutz and Spade’s sarcasm.
  3. John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd- From SNL to the big screen these guys were hysterical.
  4. Paul Newman and Robert Redford- I  know these guys are dramatic actors but Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and the Sting are hilarious.
  5. Abbott and Costello- Old School comedy, these guys are the OGs of comedy duos. Whether they were in the Army or being chased by Frankenstein they made me laugh.
  6. Honorable Mention
  7. Jay and Silent Bob- These guys are hilarious. Kevin Smith can get more laughs accidentally with facial expressions than most people who talk do.

The Five People, Living or Dead I’d Like to Have Dinner With

**This is a hard category to pick just five so I broke it into males/females

Males
  1. My grandpa- I lost him when I was 11 years old, I got cheated I only had one grandparent live past 60.
  2. Daniel Boone- I have read every, I think , that has been written about the man. I’d like to have gone adventuring with him.
  3. Davy Crockett-  Same as Boone, except I’d want to hear about the Alamo.
  4. Audie Murphy- WWII  Medal of Honor recipient from the 3rd Infantry Division I served in the 3rd Infantry also.  And a great actor appeared in many, many cowboy movies.
  5. Stan Lee- Greatest comic book writer/creator ever. Excelsior! Nuff said.

          Females
  1. My mom and her mom- I know this is cheating by getting two for one. But hey, this is my list.
  2. Tanya Tucker- I know she’s not dead but I’ve been a fan of hers since I was 12.
  3. Eleanor Roosevelt- They say she had an inner glow and beauty that the camera couldn’t capture. I’d like to see that for myself.
  4. Mae West circa 1932- I think having her over would be a real treat.
  5. My wife Anna- I couldn’t imagine meeting all these famous people without her there, I need a photographer I suck at selfies.
The only Five Musical Movies  I’ve ever watched

  1. The Wizard of Oz- They cheated on this one. The took a great plot and sandwiched in songs.
  2. Little Shop of Horrors- I loved Steve Martin as the dentist. I actually have the Dentist song on my playlist.
  3. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas- Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds in the same movie equals the perfect storm.
  4. The Blues Brothers- Belushi and Ackroyd, ‘Nuff said.
  5. Grease- Is the word. I saw this on the original  run through the theater. I have owned it on Beta, VHS, DVD, and Blue Ray. Also have had the soundtrack on vinyl, cassettes, CDs, and on Itunes. I’m a fan.

Chapter 22
Lyenochka's List

By Earl Corp

This is for Earl's Book of Lists. (Thanks, Earl, for putting this together!) . I am finally getting around to this but it was really difficult because my favorite anything changed over time. I started to categorize favorites by life stages but that got too complicated. So here's my boring list. Do you recognize any?

Favorite Pie (when we used to have dessert): Lemon Meringue
Favorite Snack: Dark chocolate

Book Favorites:
The Bible (most favorite writers in the Bible: Moses, King David, Matthew, Luke, John, Peter)
Science Fiction books by Heinlein and Bradbury
Le Petit Prince by St. Exupery
Dostoevsky (all his major works and some of his short stories)

Favorite Poets
Emily Dickinson
Osip Mandel'shtam
Marina Tsetaeva
Zbigniew Herbert
Many of the poets on Fanstory

Favorite TV Shows
Star Trek (all variations especially Deep Space Nine)
Sledge Hammer
Northern Exposure
Monk
And now mostly educational videos

Favorite Movies
Musicals like 'My Fair Lady', 'The Music Man' and 'The Sound of Music,' and 'Pirates of Penzance,' and 'The Mikado.'
Satirical comedies like: Bowfinger (making fun of the movie industry with the best acting ever by Eddie Murphy), Mystery Men (everyday people acting as heroes), Galaxy Quest (spoof for trekkies with the plot where real aliens call on the cast of a Star Trek-like TV show for help)

Favorite Music
Enjoyed classical as a child like that of Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Bach
Later liked folk singers: Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Don McLean and Bulat Okudzhava (Russian folk singer) and songs from around the world and some rock like Creedence Clearwater  Revival.
Contemporary Christian: Matt Redmon, Matt Maher, Building 429, Caedmon's Call, Petra, Phil Keaggy (best guitarist ever!)

Author Notes I'm sure if I looked at this again, I'd add more or change it.

Chapter 23
A Few of My Favorite Things

By Earl Corp

Interesting idea, Earl.  I thought I'd add my list of favorites based on the topics others have considered.

MOVIES:  Among my favorites are To Kill a Mockingbird, Rebecca, Laura, Casablanca, Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, North by Northwest, Jane Eyre, High Noon, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  I couldn't let Christmas go by without watching A Christmas Story.

ACTORS:  Gregory Peck, John Wayne, Cary Grant, Robin Williams, and Gary Cooper really stand out for me.  Gregory Peck is at the top of the list because of his performance in To Kill a Mockingbord.   In my opinion, Andy Griffith, Bob Newhart, and Mike Connors were some of the outstanding actors on TV.

ACTRESSES:  Meryl Streep, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Joan Fontaine, and Bette Davis top my list.  Not many of the younger actresses have the staying power of these ladies.   My TV favorites are Mary Tyler Moore, Angela Lansbury, and Betty White.

BOOKS:  At the top of my list are Sherlock Holmes stories, anything by Agatha Christie, the Bible, Huckleberry Finn, To Kill a Mockingbird,  David CopperfieldGreat Expectations, The Maltese Falcon, A Christmas Carol, The Scarlet Letter, and Pride and Prejudice.

AUTHORS:  Emily Dickinson, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Jane Austen, Robert Burns, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, William Shakespeare, Willa Cather, and Booth Tarkington are among my all-time favorites.  I also read almost anything by James Patterson (or whoever writes his novels), Anne Perry, and Laura Childs (She includes recipies in her cozies).   I've read a lot of Mary Higgins Clark and I'm glad she's still writing even though she's in her 80's.  Lilllian Jackson Braun gave me a lot of pleasure with her "Cat Who" series.

MUSIC:  I love musicals, especially South Pacific, The Sound of Music, The Music Man, My Fair Lady, and Oklahoma.  Jeannette McDonald and Nelson Eddy really mastered operettas like Naughty Marietta and Maytime.  I can watch musicals with those great dancers Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Cyd Charisse, and Gene Kelly over and over.

Growing up in a family that listened to a lot of country music, I listened to my share of LuluBelle and Scotty, Gene Autry, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and Alabama.  Over the years, country music changed so much that "country wasn't country any more" and I haven't kept up with the latest country singing sensations.

SINGERS:  Kate Smith (no one could sing "God Bless America" llke her), Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Julie Andrews, Gordon MacRae, Dinah Shore, Luciano Pavarati, and the Beatles top my list of singers.

TV SHOWS:  I couldn't end without mentioning some of my favorite TV shows.  They include Star Trek (the original series), The Mary Mary Tyler Moore Show, Happy Days, Welcome Back Kotter, and The Golden Girls.  Dallas makes my list because I watched it faithfully, and as I lived in Texas while it was at the height of its popularity, I had to see the ranch that was the show's Southfork.

As you can tell, a lot of my choices are reminders of the past, but these oldies are still goodies.

Author Notes Picture from the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird."

Chapter 27
A Chapter for Earl's Lists

By Earl Corp

I feel honored to be awarding today, this day of the Oscars. I am fortunate enough to be the only voter for my categories, so my nominees are certain to win.

For the category of Favorite Pie--The award goes to Peach Cobbler. Pie's really not my favorite at all though. The category should have been for favorite cake. I always prefer cake, and make it warm please. Homemade lava cake would take the prize.

Favorite snack-- We have a tie. Popcorn and cheese got the same number of
votes. Please don't make me choose.

Favorite book-- I had to divide this award into categories
Most influential book: Little Women (I have said before that I
modeled my life after Jo March)
Favorite read: The Sister books by Anne George. I've read
each one at least 5 times.
Favorite commentary on life: Any book by Rick Bragg
Favorite go to book: Any book by Agatha Christie (I read her
every night)
Favorite child's book: The Bumper Book. It's probably the
overall winner. It's a collection of short stories and poems by folks like Kipling and Milne.

Favorite poet-- Robert Service because my dad loved him and read his works
to me as a child

Favorite TV Show--Once again there is a tie.
The Voice
and
So You Think You Can Dance

Favorite Movie-- Harry Potter movies because I forgot to include Harry in my
favorite books. I really don't have a favorite movie.

Music--- Anything by the Beatles. Nobody else except the classic
composers should be in a list with their name.

I personally would like to thank all of the winners for changing my life, and thanks to Earl for letting me have a voice.
