Two More? Oh!

By Badger_29

Author Note:Matthew 7:16 "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?"

Tomorrow is here
let's make it perfectly clear
our time here is short!

because life goes fast
consider all of your time;
try to plan wisely

if you plant your days
with the seeds of abundance,
you will bear more fruit

men are often known
by the fruits which they can bear
so be productive!

The ouroboros or uroborus is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. Originating in ancient Egyptian iconography, the ouroboros entered western tradition via Greek magical tradition and was adopted as a symbol in Gnosticism and Hermeticism, and most notably in alchemy. Via medieval alchemical tradition, the symbol entered Renaissance magic and modern symbolism, often taken to symbolize introspection, the eternal return or cyclicality,[3] especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself. It also represents the infinite cycle of nature's endless creation and destruction, life and death.[4]

What causes the aurora borealis?
By Eleanor Imster in EARTH | February 15, 2017
The aurora borealis, or northern lights, are an ethereal display of colored lights shimmering across the night sky. What causes them?
Those who live at or visit high latitudes might at times experience colored lights shimmering across the night sky. Some Inuit believed that the spirits of their ancestors could be seen dancing in the flickering aurora. In Norse mythology, the aurora was a fire bridge to the sky built by the gods. This ethereal display the aurora borealis or aurora australis, the northern or southern lights is beautiful. What causes these lights to appear?

Our sun is 93 million miles away. But its effects extend far beyond its visible surface. Great storms on the sun send gusts of charged solar particles hurtling across space. If Earth is in the path of the particle stream, our planet's magnetic field and atmosphere react.

When the charged particles from the sun strike atoms and molecules in Earth's atmosphere, they excite those atoms, causing them to light up.
What does it mean for an atom to be excited? Atoms consist of a central nucleus and a surrounding cloud of electrons encircling the nucleus in an orbit. When charged particles from the sun strike atoms in Earth's atmosphere, electrons move to higher-energy orbits, further away from the nucleus. Then when an electron moves back to a lower-energy orbit, it releases a particle of light or photon.

What happens in an aurora is similar to what happens in the neon lights we see on many business signs. Electricity is used to excite the atoms in the neon gas within the glass tubes of a neon sign. That's why these signs give off their brilliant colors. The aurora works on the same principle but at a far more vast scale.
The aurora often appears as curtains of lights, but they can also be arcs or spirals, often following lines of force in Earth's magnetic field. Most are green in color but sometimes you'll see a hint of pink, and strong displays might also have red, violet and white colors. The lights typically are seen in the far north, the nations bordering the Arctic Ocean-Canada and Alaska, Scandinavian countries, Iceland, Greenland and Russia. But strong displays of the lights can extend down into more southerly latitudes in the United States. And of course, the lights have a counterpart at Earth's south polar regions.

The colors in the aurora were also a source of mystery throughout human history. But science says that different gases in Earth's atmosphere give off different colors when they are excited. Oxygen gives off the green color of the aurora, for example. Nitrogen causes blue or red colors.

So today the mystery of the aurora is not so mysterious as it used to be. Yet people still travel thousands of miles to see the brilliant natural light shows in Earth's atmosphere. And even though we know the scientific reason for the aurora, the dazzling natural light show can still fire our imaginations to visualize fire bridges, gods or dancing ghosts.

Bottom line: When charged particles from the sun strike atoms in Earth's atmosphere, they cause electrons in the atoms to move to a higher-energy state. When the electrons drop back to a lower energy state, they release a photon: light. This process creates the beautiful aurora, or northern lights.

Being one with all

Author Notes The image was taken at the arboretum at California State University Sacramento by me on 7/4/17. It is a Monarch Butterfly on a Butterfly bush.

Richard Bach is the author for the very popular 1970s book, "Jonathan Livingston
Seagull", which delves into the thought that there is a lot more to everything than meets the eye, and there is always room for:
Improvements, Experimentation, and
Little Miracles.

One concept I'm trying to convey here is that life in itself can be very intoxicating,
like an aroma wafting on the breeze, and that butterflies and flowers and all living things and all things that are not living are all part of one.

Chapter 18
Gyro-Yo (Gyroscopic Yo-yo)

By Badger_29

Author Note:Reach out your hand if your cup be empty. If your cup is full, may it be again" Jerry Garcia

sometimes I go up
then in contrast I switch
to go down, down, down

to an alternate
 place,then just a bit further
 where time is thicker

 then I keep going
the feeling is a frozen
ice-o-lated  state

I go to this place
which is the depth of despair
and get a bit stuck

 like a butterfly
caught in a black widow web
waiting for the venom

 this takes me away
from realities' grasp,
indecisiveness

in this quiet place
which is akin to a womb,
 as a tomb outside

the way that I feel
the way to escape eludes
anytime quickly

inexorable
this turgid hold on my mind
 ripples of sorrow

then when I emerge,
 it's like being born again:
 metamorphosis

in desperation
I am trying to recall
who I was before

this action itself
keeps me tethered to that state,
so I pause; reflect

I am different
but it is quite difficult
to ascertain how

transformed by pressure
in a not-so-subtle way,
to my element

just as quick I fly
back up to the plane I know,
shrugging off the pain

the reality
 of the alternate spaces
I shed like old skin

my reality
is not quite the same as yours
but they overlap

 overlapping spheres
of our own realities
covering the earth

writer Vonnegut
in "Cat's Cradle", called these spheres
karasses, as such

back on top again
 I feel free to contemplate
how to navigate

these clearer waters
with successful connection
to the real that's Real

my future brighter,
 this bipolar condition
becomes an asset

serendipity
has been resolved in a way
 that makes me grateful

the river of time
never fails to irrigate
the thirstiest states

drink deeply, your cup
and be sure to share of it
as it flows over

Author Notes Thanks to Google for the image.
What I mean by gyroscopic yoyo, is that having bipolar disorder is like being a yoyo, but there's a gyroscope at the center.
A gyroscope is what is used in flight for an autopilot; so although I experience contrasting mood swings, my auto pilot keeps me on course.

B Being born broken

I inducing indecisive insanity

P Pursuing perplexed planning

O Outdated, obtuse, obsessive

L Leanings, learning, leaps

A About an absolutely

R Really rearranged reality

As I was writing this, I decided that it needed two words for each one because of the bipolar. But then, looking at the picture I chose, I decided it had to be three, because there's both ends of the spectrum, and the middle.
The manic one would say "the cup is half full", the depressed would say
"the cup is half empty", but the middle one, being neutral, would say the cup is at the midway point.
So there is no happy medium, but there is a middle perspective.

May Peace Be With You~

you are comforted

then it's time to leave

wailing, cold and scared!

as you learn and grow,

your melodies gain flavor

and you find your range

childhood singing

an excellent teaching tool,

now, you remember

joining with others-

the tunes get inter-woven,

melodiousness

you can be a star-

but then, you already are!

your radiance shines

through the stages of your tunes;

and gains momentum

the timbre and tone

weave in contrast and texture,

a personal note

unencumbered now,

joining Angelic choir

your spirit flies free!

there exists a tool

 the rainbows colors

the tool that is taught
 to memorize the colors
 is named  "Roy G Biv"

each letter stands for
the name of one of the seven
 colors in the bow

 red orange yellow
 green blue indigo violet
 are in that order

the other pigments-
which are called secondary,
orange green and purple

if you want orange
mix the colors from both sides
 red and the yellow

for the shades of green
you would mix yellow and blue
 which are on both sides

you can get Violet
 by combining blue and red
 in the same amount

as you will notice,
 the secondary colors
lie between their mix

this is evidence,
since violet is blue and red -
 which are by the ends

if you are quite lucky,
you will see a full circle:
 color in the sky

the rainbow, God's promise
 When Noah and his kindred
went into the Ark

that He would never
make the waters rise again,
He is merciful

Pawing at the ground
 looking extremely angry,
sharp horns pierce the air

A brave clown stepped in
 waving a red handkerchief;
the Cowboy escaped

in the Western sky
bathed in water colored tints,
 the sun is setting

the earth's atmosphere
filters the spectrum of light
 in shades of orange

glistening with dew
growing wild in the sun,
a field of mustard

The eager blossoms
dancing slowly with the light
 shockingly golden

removing our shoes,
hot tired feet languishing
 In the cool green grass

then we were running
 feet flattening the wet grass,
chasing butterflies

our son was laughing,
having just escaped sister's
playful clutching hands

so we joined them there-
baby blue eyes shining with
our joyful moment

a gift I bequeathed
to my beloved that day:
in a pretty box

unwrapping slowly,
the deep indigo sapphire
flashing like a star

colors faded then
filling us with excitement
of the tasty treats

purple shades of night
surrounded us as we lay
beside the warm fire

Author Note:"Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end" Scott Adams

Be sure to plug in
to the consciousness of chi,
therein lies wisdom

start with gratitude,
sincere appreciation
leads to contentment

this opens the door
to a higher perception
of enlightenment

a realization
that there's more to the picture;
complex, yet simple

the complex is seen
by the bold variables,
possibilities

the simplicity
is woven through everything
under the surface

Chi can be harnessed,
but you must first develop
A firm foundation

then you build on this
by living and going through
your reality

Chi is the life force
that exudes from the maker
of all that exists

Chi is energy
a force that is mostly light
therein lies the dark

to utilize Chi,
start with the realization
that it is a choice

you must seek the light-
but this can be difficult,
because of the dark

goodness ripples out
when you learn to channel Chi serendipity

when you are thankful,
this paves the way for goodness-
positivity

if you expect good,
more of it will come to you
than if you do not

this mode of action
improves exponentially,
everything brightens

the dawn of reason
being illuminated
by the increased light

when there is more light,
things that used to be hidden
become visible

as more is revealed,
the purpose for existence
gains significance

new stability
creative flowers blossom
more done in less time

not fully complete
but a lot of the loose ends
are no longer loose

Author Notes Companion poem to the biographical Chapter,
"Positive Chi, or Ripple Effect"

Chapter 27
Divine Evidence

By Badger_29

Author Note:"I believe that miracles happen every day. Every person is a miracle. Every moment is a miracle. If only we can open our eyes, we'll see God's love everywhere" Bo Sanchez

~+~

Little Miracles
accentuate bigger ones
they happen in threes

Deep-azure sky set
over lush, wild blackberries
laden with sweetness

Melodious choir
joyfully harmonizing
splendid emotions

Newborn cooing soft,
 mornings Songbirds dulcet notes
dancing colored flames

Twilights magic glow
aurora borealis
strange lights in the Sea

Pilgrims filled with souls,
spirits exiting bodies
promise hereafter

Pure joy and zest
as your senses overflow
breathing love of life;

being life of love

Author Notes Ecclesiastes
3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end
3:12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Chapter 28
Do You Mind?

By Badger_29

Author Note:"We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves" Buddha

 studying the mind,
there are many rooms to find
fearfully designed

 sensory data
 collected then inspected
 everything is stored

 the memory banks
 retain this information,
 but we forget most

 the neural pathways
become more accessible
by repeating
 things

 so if you don't mind,
 I will try to remember
 to thank your reviews

Author Notes Psalms. 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

I would like to thank
Renate-Bertodi fanart. Com for the expressive artwork, I chose it because the title and the theme match what I am shooting for here.
I would also like to gratefully thank everyone that I've come into contact with here, you are all so positive and helpful, and there is a strong Fellowship here.

Thank you for checking out my 5-7-5 Suites.
I quit calling them Haiku Suites because haikus are designed in a certain way, and I do not believe this fits the format. I would appreciate any feedback you might have on this topic .

As I have not written in a while, I'm going to try to write at least two haikus a day and start entering more and taking advantage of the many benefits there are to Tom's great site.

Chapter 29
Balang (balance + yin-yang)

By Badger_29

Author Note:"The two most important days in your life are the day you were born, and the day you figure out why" Mark Twain

~ + ~

To achieve balance
you must observe IN and OUT
balanced together

looking in too long
 is a one-sided affair
causing loneliness

only looking out
adventageous it is not
you must maintain self

when you combine these
they become homogenous
and you will succeed

Chapter 30
Memorial Day

By Badger_29

Author Note:"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends" Martin Luther King, Jr.

Memorial Day

time to give thanks and honor

those who gave their lives

They died to protect

the freedoms that we enjoy

please take a moment

Pause and consider

just how fortunate we are

to live in this place

For we are truly

blessed with so much abundance

compared to the rest

Let us be thankful

tomorrow is not promised

yesterday is gone

It should not matter

whether you are left or right

because in the end

We must remember

our forefathers wise advice:

United We Stand

Author Notes Thanks to
Glynis Buschmann for the wonderful photograph, and
Royowen for helping me classify the difference between haiku and senryu.

Please be thankful for those who got up that morning not knowing that it would be their last day, leaving behind us who are in a perpetual state of mourning.

Peace be with you

Chapter 31
Window Of The Soul

By Badger_29

Author Note:"The countenance is the portrait of the soul, and the eyes mark its intentions." Marcus Tullius Cicero

When I look into
 eyes strikingly bold and blue
I see me in you

 when you truly see
that my gaze is upon thee,
do you feel my love?

for, it is my love
that I wish to exhibit
while I drink of you

drink to me only
 thine merry visionary
with thine eyes azul

Author Notes An experiment, based on a popular phrase attributed to William Shakespeare, was also quoted by Matthew in the Bible and Cicero

Proverbs 30:17 The eye [face; countenance] that mocketh [derides; scorns] at his father, and despiseth [disrespect; rejects] to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out [pierce; thrust out; hollow out], and the young eagles shall eat it [feed upon].

Matthew 6:22-24 The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

"The eye is the window of the soul, the mouth the door. The intellect, the will, are seen in the eye; the emotions, sensibilities, and affections, in the mouth. The animals look for man's intentions right into his eyes. Even a rat, when you hunt him and bring him to bay, looks you in the eye." Hiram Powers, American sculptor (1805 - 1873)

"I need no dictionary of quotations to remind me that the eyes are the windows of the soul."
Max Beerbohm

"Perhaps in all too many cases they are full of ancient traditional hokum from the culture about the eyes being the windows of the soul, and things being seen in them that might not otherwise be revealed -- which seems to be one of the most misguided ideas I've ever known." Sullivan, H. S. (1954). The Psychiatric Interview. New York: Norton. p. 5-6.

The eyes of our souls only then begin to see, when our bodily eyes are closing. Law.

"Thou sun, of this great world both eye and soul." Milton.

"They say that the eye is the window to the soul. But it is the soul that is the window. "
Andrew Hamilton

The eyes are the window of the soul. English Proverb

"The eyes are the window of the soul."
Traditional Proverb

"The eyes indicate the antiquity of the soul."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Chapter 32
We Also Decayed

By Badger_29

Author Note:"Autumn wins you best by this- its mute appeal to sympathy for its decay" Robert Browning

Autumnal sunshine
filters though wise old Oak leaves
golden bars of light

fragrant summer rose
decays into tones of earth
an endless cycle

I, much like the rose
will also return to her;
my spirit will be

when that time arrives
I will gain understanding
flying free again

perhaps I'll return
as a fragrant one myself
casting to the wind

I
will be
like a rose
fragrant; lovely
then

when

zen

Chapter 33
In All Things Give Thanks

By Badger_29

Author Note:"I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual" Henry David Thoreau

November, a time
we give thanks for everything
we should be grateful
~+~
In all things give thanks
for this is the will of God
through His Son, Jesus
~+~
If you are thankful
it will bring stability
and more abundance
~+~
Being grateful now
causes more gratitude then
when your ship comes in
~+~
Luxuriousness
can certainly be a attained
without wealth or things
~+~
good measure, pressed down,
and shaken together, and
running over all
~+~
this is what you get
when you give unto others
 with a cheerful heart
~+~
Scripture is given
by divine inspiration
is profitable
~+~
For reproof,
doctrine teaching and also
edification
~+~
Saints are edified
through fellowship, reading and
hearing of The Word
~+~
The Word is as sharp
as a two-edged sword, able
to separate the
~+~
bone from the marrow
and the soul from the spirit
so don't cut yourself

Author Notes thanks to cleo85 Splendid art titled "Life is so busy"
The saying
"When my ship comes in",
comes from the early days when the United States was first settled. An individual or group would get together and invest in a ship and there was a good chance that it would not arrive with their goods so when it did return it was a good fortune And if you start out by being thankful then when it's officially good things happen you will be even more grateful!

Relevant Scripture
l Thessalonians
5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
ll Timothy
3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Hebrews
4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Won't you join me in being grateful all year round?

Blessings,

Brother Badger Cull

Chapter 34
Haiku Suite; Thankfulness

By Badger_29

I am breathing in,
then I'm very thankful to
be breathing out too

I've been to the edge
of my imagination,
therein lies goodness

for my tomorrows
are only a day away
time is so precious

utilize the tools
which God has generously
provided for you

in all things, give thanks
for this is the will of God
for us, through His Son

Author Notes I am very thankful for everything, for the good book says in
llThessalonians 5:18,
"In all things give thanks, for this is the will of God through Christ Jesus concerning you"

I am very thankful for this site and you, my reader!
So, please remember to be thankful . . .
