Write a Pastiche

A pastiche is a piece written in the style of a famous Author. You may not plagiarize and you must write about a totally different subject. You must pay tribute to the author by naming the work you used as your model.

We all have read a Dickens or Poe or Bronte and loved the style. Now's your chance to honor your favorite.

Below is and example from my entry to be.

At Christmas time the table was always decorated, but we didn't use it anymore. It was game time at Mama's and the pre-game show started early.

Here is the passage from Hemingway's "In Another Country."

In the fall the war was always there, but we did not go to it anymore. It was cold in the fall in Milan and the dark came very early.

Honor your masters and paste the passage used as a model so readers can see how well you've captured the flavor of their style.
