Story of Lyrics

For this contest, you have to write a story or poem that incorporates 4 - 6 lines of lyrics (from a max of two songs).

For the purposes of this contest, I ask that no one use disturbing or particularly crude lyrics (no detailing horrific crimes, racial slurs, offensive terms, overly-sexualised lyrics etc).
And I know some people may not like it but please keep away from religious lyrics (praise/worship songs). There is a lot of godly pieces on this site and although they are wonderful I want to take you out of your comfort zone. Find a song that you haven't heard or that you wouldn't normally listen to, a song from your youth or ask your friend to pick a song.

The piece doesn't have to be about the lyrics! It can be about whatever, but, of course, the lyrics have to belong in the context of the piece. If the lyrics feel out of place that would kind of defeat the purpose.

Word limit is 300 - 1500 for short stories/prose or 12 - 75 lines of poetry.

**Please if you can, include the song title/s and artist/s in your description with the lyrics you used.**
eg. 'I had a dream the other night' - One Republic, "Something I Need".

Have fun! I can't wait to see what you guys create!

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 60.00 member dollars. There are only 3 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 72.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.

Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Sunday, August 23, 2020.
