You asked for it. You got it. Here it is, the inaugural Brett Matthew West Songwriting Contest.
The rules are simple:
1 - Be as creative and original as you desire
2 - MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT MUST BE ORIGINAL. Remember, if you use a published musical score, and add your own original lyrics to it, you are violating the copyright that is owned by the music's original creator.
3 - Therefore, if you do not write the music as well as the lyrics, you should not enter this contest.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 35.00 member dollars. There are 11 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
