Never Won A Contest
This contest is for those who never won a contest here on FanStory.
The topic is to write a RHYMING poem on any subject of your choosing. It must be at least three stanzas or more, and each stanza has to contain a minimum of four lines.
As an example I chose my own poem "I throw my rhymes into the air" that I wrote when I was experiencing a writer's block. I couldn't write for weeks. This was a tremendous effort, and actually having written this poem on FS and getting all those wonderful encouraging reviews, helped overcome it.
Come on, friends! Throw your rhymes into the air, let's see where they land. One of you is going to win a contest for the first time. Write a rhyming poem of three stanzas or more, four lines per stanza.
I Throw My Rhymes Into the Air
I throw my rhymes into the air
and watch them twist and fall
with their gymnastic ease and flair --
I hope, they have a ball!
My metaphors escape with pride
from rhyming current's flow,
alliterations leave their hide
with similes in tow.
Pink castles and the gliding swans
inspire my writer's quill,
I praise wild lions and the fawns
that graze upon a hill.
A field of poppies in the mist,
the glare of crescent moon;
I find a reason to exist
in Muse's blue lagoon.
Oh, goddess poetry - I'm yours,
you rule my heart and soul;
Your magic aura won the wars,
your essence made me whole.
I decorate your sacred throne
with Birds of Paradise.
With you, I'll never be alone,
you soothe my ailing eyes.

This is a Winless contest. Only authors that have never won first place may enter.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 65.00 member dollars. There are 5 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
