SG Muller: Tom are you out there. Please give me the algorithm for rankings. Is it (A*B*C*D) + X factor? :) cant help myself, vivid imagination. A = number of words B = No of reviews C = Rating of reviews D = Frequence of posts X Factor = who knows! |

SG Muller: The real value of fanstory for me is the discipline it brings in writing a book. Everyday I aim for 1000 quality words. Reviewing is always nice, but I know at the end of the book I still need to pay a professional editor to make the book work. So its a looooonng process, its like trekking up Kilamanjaro or eating the elephant. In small chunks. |

SG Muller: In modern literature we must show, not tell. This is difficult to get right and I find in the weaker posts writers tend to "tell" too much. So much information, so little space on fanstory! 1500 words generally per post. So eating this elephant chunk size is hard in the fanstory medium. Yet the good writers get it right. Food for thought, that's all. |

SG Muller: I was here on Fanstory 3 years ago and wrote a lot of drivel. Then started reading as much as I could on the technique of writing. I am now of the view that in modern writing technique is possibly more important than talent to get published! Controversial perhaps, but worth thinking about. |

SG Muller: Its hard to get a posting in Fanstory right + make it fit into a book! However, I realise that the whole idea of a book is to engage the reader, so from that perspective Fanstory positng a great discipline! |
