J Patience: I've had a really odd year - odder than covid and riots in my city. It's a good odd, though it might be seen as selfish. I'm not used to being selfish, though I don't regret my decision to split from my husband, and I find that my new life is definitely some different-temperatured water to be swimming in. |

J Patience: I need to delve into creative writing again. Fanstory was a good outlet a while back, so I'm giving it another try after an adventurous year of change. Lots of change. That I made it through. So I know I can get through whatever happens next. |

|
J Patience: I'm trying FanStory again after a hiatus. This time without the intent to advance as a ranked ANYTHING, because I realize that only people who put actual money into FanStory will advance thusly. I just want to keep my literary mind sharp, and ability to take criticism practiced. Bring it on. |

J Patience: I have a story published in a book of short story Sci-fi/fantasy compilations called Aberrant Literature vol. 1, found on amazon.com for kindle or paperback. I like most of the stories in it. Having my own preferences, there are a couple not up my alley, but there's good stuff in it, too. Who knows, you may like ALL of them. Give it a try, and give it a review, too! |

J Patience: My first term of college since I was 20 ended this past week, and one of the classes was Technical Writing. I decided to go for an AS degree with "an emphasis on writing," and am now trying to expand my horizons on writing genres. I've been creative/fiction writing for decades, and now I know the general ins and outs of Tech Writing, which is much more creative and delightful than I thought it would be, and next term will be taking "creative writing/non-fiction." I'm looking so forward to learning how to write in different genres! |

J Patience: This summer, I let go of the job I've had for over 4 years to make room for college classes! I am going to start-off by going for my AS with an emphasis on writing - I need to branch-out from the creative writing rut. Maybe I'll try some non-fiction here and see how it goes. Hmm... what to write articles about... or perhaps a tactful biography. |

J Patience: It's sooo nice to be writing again! I can hardly wait until I have the time to do more reviewing too... |

J Patience: What a busy month. I'm attempting to have a quiet moment on FanStory here, posting and hopefully reading and reviewing - but the boys are not in school. They could pop in and talk to me about "shanking people on Chivalry" or "...trick I did at the skate park" any moment now... |

J Patience: In case anyone is spending Christmas on FanStory and has enjoyed my work here, the book I've written and self-published - that isn't shared on this site because of Kindle's policy - is on a free promotion right now until the 28th. It's called "The Story of Eidolon," and no, it doesn't have anything to do with the video game apparently called "Eidolon." It's a post-apocalyptic, young-adult fiction book that is an easy read for adults. It's had mostly good reviews on Kindle. Help yourself, and please leave a review no matter what you think of it! It just needs some reviews so that people know it's being read! Happy Christmas to everyone, and a Great New Year to you all! |

J Patience: I hope all the bad crap happened yesterday so that it wouldn't be dragged-out for a number of days. It could have been a worse day, but it left a bad taste in my mind. Here's hoping today is better. |

J Patience: After reading the same line five times without comprehension, I've decided to not review pieces after having wine. Sorry. And you're welcome. |

J Patience: Good thing I work this morning, I don't want to end up sitting around the day after I ate as much as I did yesterday! My husband did so much cooking while I was at work yesterday! And then he cleaned-up and put the leftovers away, too! Amazing! It was a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving will all of my children as well as my husband's first son who, until a couple years ago, he thought he'd never meet again. Now he's with us starting a new life in Portland. I hope everyone found their blessings yesterday! And I am thankful for all of you here who make this fanstory experience complete! |

|
J Patience: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. We have a small group but it's enough to be thankful for, of course. I get to make time-and-a-half tomorrow for a full shift, and my husband is sick with a cold. I hope the meal tomorrow will help him heal, and that we're blessed with it not spreading. We'll have a side of Echinacea with the turkey. :) |

J Patience: My 18-yr-old Aspergers boy is coming home this month. He has graduated from Job Corps in auto mechanics, and will be working with vocational education and people from Job Corps so that he can get a job here. But apparently the effects of his ADHD meds aren't helping like they used to, and he's having a hard time focusing and keeping his anxiety in order. He'll be seeing a psychiatrist again and getting an new doctor in order to find out what will work now that he's an adult. We all have a long, hard road ahead in this. I may be using this place more for an escape in the next few months. |

J Patience: I love inspiration! - But not when I'm walking without access to pen and paper. The ideas kept piling up and I had nowhere to put them because I refuse to walk and type on my phone at the same time. And I hate talking into my phone when it's not a conversation with someone (I have a recording device on it). Sometimes just good ol' pen and paper is the key. Good thing the receptionist at the boys' school had a pen and paper handy when I got there. |
