Comments For in an azure sky by Focused True North
This beautiful piece met all aspects of a great tanka poem beyond just the syllable requirements, combining elements such as nature and a specific moment.
This author chose a perfect photo to go with this tranquel and lovely poem.
Super imagery and it fits the Tanka format perfectly.
Beautiful tanka and image complement each other to make this a winner.
Comments For Blessed Assurance (tanka) by Mrs. KT
Lovely imagery, with the promise of new life in the robin. I liked this message of hope.
Great piece about hope and assurances.

The Contest Committee has announced that Wings of the Soul by foxey has won the Faith Poetry contest and the $100 prize.
I felt this one fit the requirements of the contest and was beautifully expressed.
This poem's rhyme and flow, combined with it's well worded message, shown a little brighter than many other excellent poems entered in this contest.
Faith in a nose.... by Dreamdancer
Very nice tribute to all canines who put their lives on the line to protect us all, as well as a lovely memorial to this member's former partner. (These dogs' lives are arguably shortened by the perpetual sniffing of various toxins during training.) Fresh perspective on faith! :)

The Contest Committee has announced the winners for the "That Someone" contest. Father by Emotional Soldier has won the contest and the $100 prize.
This poem flowed smoothly when read but the meaning is what really captured my vote. The importance of self-love should be thought of this way in a healthy person.
A well thought out acrostic who's meaning is especially poignant in today's war torn world.

Congratulations go out to Thayamax. The Contest Committee has announced that Waiting For My Daughter has won the Flash Fiction contest and the $100 prize.
The committee members shared their thoughts on the winning entries.
Commenting on the Waiting For My Daughter This heart-wrenching piece used excellent word choices and compact writing to immerse the reader in the horrors of Alzheimer's and the victims it leaves behind.
This story was touchingly real and written with much compassion and understanding.
Very nicely done - excellent flash fiction which touches upon a pervasive societal concern.
The Years Condensed by Louis's Lady This short piece was an excellent example of flash fiction. Superb use of language lead the reader down an assumed path, only to completely shift perspective in the last sentence.

One committee member wrote about the winner: This marvelous poem did an excellent job of describing the anguish of a parent, demonstrating how as humans, we can't control all circumstances. This emotionally packed piece drew me in, deserving a vote as a winner.
A member commented about Your Back by Judian James: I felt this poem was like the art in print. The curve and emotional pain so clearly seen and poignantly written.
In Hiding by mmichelle97219 Very nicely done and illuminates a culturally-relevant topic.
Release by HanaHK was one of many runner-ups This poem did an excellent job incorporating the picture into a story of redemption of a broken man. Short, hard-hitting sentences and well-written comparisons between the narrator's reality and the first Christmas combined to make this poem a winner.
