The old man treated Aqil hard-heartedly and accused of been insolence he thrashed and turned his back on him driving him out of the family. None could adhere to say something even the mother except Quman his younger sister. Quman was one year younger than Aqil and she is the second child of Warla her tallness and well built body make her to appear older than her age met even some could say Aqil and Quman are twins however she loved her older brother he too loved her. Quman opposed the action of the old man against Aqil but what can she do for him? The ostensible father called all his children to address them about the matter he slaughtered a she camel which belonged to Bah Warla after the consumption of the camel?s meat he started lecturing to them, his voice was vigorous his eyes become red and he started waving his walking stick in the air ?my children listen to me very careful? the old man opened his mouth cursed and accused Aqil of being impertinence and dividing the united family. The vulnerable Warla could do nothing rather than preying for her son while the poignant Quman sat with her hands on her lap shedding tears ?we have been existing as a united family for years working and living together I can?t put up with what Bah Warla is doing? The oldest family was Bah Booba which contribute more children than Bah Warla. Six sons from Bah Booba were in attendance at the venue their father looked at them and gestured to them showing the cheerless Quman. The old man used to spent most of his time at Bah Booba he also give most of his wealth to them and made them the next of kin to the estate some people backbit that he is the real father of only Bah Booba but not the rest and that is why they are very subservient to him ?the nuisance that Aqil is trying to create is supported by Quman? the old man continued ?Bah Warla is among the larger family of Daadhi. If Bah Booba has more wealth than Bah Warla then I can?t be accused of being not justice? the words rested on the hectic brain of Quman asking herself if what he is saying is true then why he come annually to them and when he arrive instead of giving them some thing why the starts slaughtering the little animals they had her brain sunk in an ocean of thinks her eyes were downcast and the words only concentrated her melancholy she fascinated the eyes of her enemy the image of her brother Aqil appeared her mind the abrasion on his body were infuriating her but did Duq Daadhi sense her inner sting? Her real brother Aqil has been tortured isolated and exiled from the family that is why when ever she raises her head she shed tears the man that she sees in front of her does not make her contented she had never seen before but he is made the head of the family because he is the first born of the old man. Was Aqil not supposed to be leader? Was he not the one that showed her respect and brother hood? Was Aqil not their first born? She speculated that a father can?t be so inconsiderate to his son. is it uncomplicated To deny the existence of your son? Some thing must be wrong the battle looks like an invasion the contender stands adjacent to his father gazing at Quman and nodding his head every thing was new to him except his younger brothers he couldn?t identify any one else but the old man wants to leave him behind to look after the property of Bah Warla and to promote what he termed the unity of the family he was advise to take care off Aqil because he only want to robe the family?s possessions he was also enlighten the enmity of Quman and sympathy of their mother. the father also recommended him to work closely to Qadhqadh but to be observant the behaviours of Warmahaye the youngest son of Warla who he claimed that he bear a resemblance to Aqil ?I fear that this young son may duplicate the mode of thinking of the imprudent Aqil? Though no one investigated the matter it is quit known that this family doesn?t among the families of Daadhi but who could declare the legitimacy of the situation? The oldest son of Duq Daadhi was given the liability and mandate to preside over and administrate the family. While the innocent Aqil and his incapable family was not consulted. The prejudice father went back to his home, what Aqil would do? Would he recognize the new authority? Or he will counter and contest. It is very difficult to surrender to stranger specially when it comes to family affairs but you need to gain and gather power to face those challenges you also need to have the required support from the family and the society. It was a day after the old man?s departure when Aqil re-appeared, the man who was exiled by the father and disowned. He was cheered and welcomed by the family, this younger sister Quman and his mother surrounded him weeping and looking the wounds on his body. Duulaan is watching how things are going on but he was regarded as an alien. However he tried to remember his father?s motivation and drive Aqil out of the family this created conflict and scream in the family. The irritated Quman fore fronted the war against Duulaan the rest of the family backed her excluding Qadhqadh who watched the movie The tension in the house forced the neighbours to intercede the affair in order to mediate the contradictory parties. The volunteer judiciary eavesdrop the moaning of Bah Warla and the plead of Duulaan. The elders recommended that Bah Warla has the precise to subsist as a family and that the torture and exile of Aqil are inexcusable they also emphasised and elaborated that Duulaan and his father are not righteous thus in order to accomplish harmony in the family justice must be practiced. Furthermore the elders accentuated that Bah Warla was neglected and even thought that their father passed away a long time ago but when the father is seen he created mistrust and mistreated the family hence they questioned the legitimacy of the father Duulaan moderately accepted the judgement but stipulated to consult with his father. CHAPTER TWO Qadhqadh was reluctant and undisturbed by the situation and conjured unacquainted shoddier he deceived his family and allied their antagonist the words of the old man took root in him or he was contented by Duulaan, conversely he indicted Aqil and condemned his mother?s support to her mistaken kids. The rebellion and mutiny was not only from Bah Warla, when the combat was resting on at Bah Warla Duq Daadhi was full of activities frustrating and trying to calm down the protest from three other families complaining from the unsympathetic father and accusing him that he is not the real father but they were different from Bah Warla in terms of inhabitants and even they were motherless making it complicated to validate their criticize they were also not as fierce and enthusiastic as Bah Warla, they were moderately calm and their demands were fundamentally centralised by justice and impartiality their effort was governed by their privileges and leadership ambition. The issue was handled and Duulaan came to a decision to send a message to his father to inform him the elder?s proposal and Aqil?s task in the family?s concern. He sent Qadhqadh as a courier to deliver the message. It is not an easy job the ambassador must navigate through a lot of challenge one of them being the distance to be covered and lack of family?s support but Qadhqadh couldn?t see all those troubles he remain dedicated to Duq Daadhi and his son he either forgot that blood is thicker than water or assumed that the old man?s chromosome is in him. However he was dependable by the old man and his servants while his nurse and Aqil mistrusted him The mistreated family got some emancipation while the muggers got disillusioned. Dulaan could not put up with his contender and he considered the affair as a depose, but Aqil believed that he was molested. Depending on Quman?s audacity and his mother?s hold up he proved his manhood It was nightfall and the domestic animals were coming back from grazing Bah Warla owned little camels and some goats they were placed lower class economically. Aqil and his devotee Quman started milking the camel soon it started raining a lightning flashed the area and thunder shaken the ground it was trouble but grant a stay of execution the drought and famine defunct and water accessibility become contracted seasonal watercourse over followed and the hallucination of cultivation become factual. Bah Warla owned a huge portion of land which was not cultivated recently and turned in to a jungle unless something is done growing on it is a day dream but Quman is a lady and the mother is an aged and Warmahaye is a child could Aqil unaided do this work? It was the principally discussed topic in that night The action portrayed by Quman and her courage was unbelievable she decided to fill the post of Qadhqadh the turncoat and defector. The duty was not simple but it was the only imperative alternative for saviour a person who is committed harmony and dignity. She affirmed a full shore up for Aqil pleasure and gladness flowed in him he valued her eternal support. Getting his family?s support was not difficult but he understood the challenges and impediments of his victory He slept with that smiling and viewing of the farm asset and groundwork. He implemented his mission in a dream ploughing and planting the gigantic farm and guarding it from the domestic animals what attractive maize! He was contented the progressive growth of the crop when he look it horizontally it blessed him he walked in it imagining the number of sacks that he would harvest and recognising the role of Quman he reached its corner turned back and looked the other corner his stomach started roaring and biting him ?I must go home and take my lunch? he whispered to himself It was mid-night when he rouses wile in the focus of nightmare he smacked his face yowled and sat down trying to review what was short-lived recently in his mind the slight that he could remember was disappointing the maize was grazed by a herd of cattle escorted by their ox. It left a predicament and future ambiguity but he never shared the setback with anyone and he remained sanguine and future oriented CHAPTER THREE Qadhqadh was dead beat he travelled for weeks while hungry and thirsty the duty given was trauma full and tedious but he decided to perform it and gratify the old man. The sun was rising when he heard people talking and quarrelling as he was resting under a tree he walked to them a short girl emerged from the crowd she came to him she dazed and frightened, his outer shell was horrible and Obnoxious the dust changed his hair his eyes become red and his skin was emaciated she showed sympathy and tried to help him ?how can I help you? she asked him decently Qadhqadh certainly not wanted to relax until he completes his mission ?I would like to be directed to Duq Daadhi?s house? he was not over his words when her compassion and kindness transformed in to annoy and infuriate. Though she knows where Duq Daadhi was and even she was with him recently again she hates him and she sees him as her only enemy. She guarded her temper and enquired from him what he required from the old man she fixed her eyes on him observed him from head to foot she witnessed to herself that she have never seen him before ?he is my father? he said Duq daadhi is in the hut that she had built during summer to keep her and her family warm during the cold winter period but she was not pleased with his presence sometimes she terms it as Subjugation. Nazet lost her mother while she was six years old now she is nineteen years she is sandwiched by two brothers her elder brother Mazeni is a successful cultivator while her younger brother is a student he is five years younger than her his mother passed away immediately after delivering him making him the youngest in the family. Their father visited them infrequently however Mazeni started farming while he was young to provide his deserted family with their daily bread he was much older than Nazet and some people backbite them that they are not the only of springs of Alem but there were a number of children who died for hunger and some unconscious abortions caused by the difficult errands that she did while she was expectant. The sing of starvation could be easily translated from the house and its occupants despite the fact that they are among flourishing farmers in their area what they produce doesn?t cover their needs Slops and mountains that crosswise the region makes the land unproductive, making the native conscientious poor. How ever Nazet and her brother are industrious people and future oriented. Mazeni wakes up crack of dawn and goes to the farm, while Nazet has to do home errands. When ever Mazeni meets Duq daadhi soothing in the hut anger eructs his hairs and the old man can easily comprehend the significance from the body reaction. But he never deprived of the old man?s paternity he is quite calm than Nazet who is more sadistic |
