Jatinder Ahooja: For years gone by, I wondered whether life was worth living or not because I've not been keeping well since a long-long time; got a job but health didn't allow me to continue. My parents told me that I should stop working because my income was not high enough, not allowed to drive, was permitted only to bicycle. It so happened one day when I was about to commit suicide, I stopped myself because I got the biblical thought that the life I live is not what I own but its a treasure that belongs to my Lord. Next question that arose in my mind, doing nothing, life would mean nothing but a boredom for me. In order to avoid boredom, I began reading the unabridged book of Bernard Shaw. After having read a few plays in the book, I began going through Shakespeare which helped me to begin writing essays and poems. I wanted to get married but my parents objected saying that because of bad health, how would I be able to take care of my wife, followed by children. Without the knowledge of my parents, I went and got married to someone I had known for over a year. She, being a teacher told me that I needn't work, she'll take care of me. I succeeded. When my parents got this news, they couldn't say anything but welcomed my life partner. As the years went by, I had a daughter who has a very good job these days and my son is in college. The day my daughter got the job, I had no care, no sorrow, no worry for tomorrow. To tell a little more about myself, if you read Matthew 17: 14-21, had been the stages I had gone through. I'm much better but not completely healed. I'm fond of sports like cricket, cycling, chess, cards and many more. As I read below,"No poems, stories or books," I'd like to be informed as to what all are the things I can contribute to FanStory. So far I've shared this thought I had in mind. Awaiting to hear more from you. Jatinder Ahooja. |
