mikeco1: Competition is one of the hardest hurdles to overcome in getting published. There are so many great writers with lots to say; that I had to find something different to write about. Something that would attract readers and leave them wanting more! I have been scammed by two agents who thought my work was great and offered to sign me up and get published, though luckily for me they only got a couple of hundred pounds or so. I had sent my work to umpteen publishers, and received lots of rejection letters. This doesn't mean that my work was no good, it just meant that the publishers either didn't read it, or they looked at the synopsis and thought, "Oh no not another romance story." I was even offered to have my work made into a film until luckily I found out it was another scam agent. So I think most problems for a writer is trying to find a reputable agent who believes in the writers work. |

mikeco1: My best ideas for a story or an article always come as soon as I wake up in the morning. I usually arise around 5-30 AM to 6-30 AM, and I have my Cuppa! (A pint of tea). Then I have another Cuppa! And I place it on my desk and begin typing away. I never know what I'm going to write, as I write the first thing that pops into my head without thinking. Afterwards I edit it, though usually at the end of the day. Around 9 AM, I have my breakfast of a slice of toast with another Cuppa! But if I have come up with a great story line, I don't stop until I lose concentration, and then have my breakfast. I usually stop around 11 AM and go out into the Village. I love the countryside and I don't want to be cooped up all day in a room. I usually begin writing again around 5 PM if I am back in the house, but only for an hour or so. Then that is my writing finished until the next day. |

mikeco1: When I'm not writing, I am painting, as it helps me clear my head and stops my mind from going blank when I'm writing. I wonder what other writers do to prevent writers block? |

mikeco1: I would like to share my work with you and try to bring a little happiness into your lives. At the moment I'm sitting here with all sorts of things going around my head, like how I have everything that I need, a loving family, no bills to worry about and some great friends. Beside my writing I paint landscapes, so I keep my self occupied whenever I can, but still I feel a little empty, and I feel that I need to do more in whatever time I have left in my life to be completely fulfilled. Ah pay no heed of the ramblings of an old man. Mike |

mikeco1: My autobiography "Find a soft spot to land on" is my best work so far and I'm delighted that it received book of the year. I was also truly delighted when I first saw the books on sale in my local store. I've had some brilliant reviews on it, and I don't think that I can ever top this book with future novels. Mike |
