Nice use of consonance and parallel structure. Good choice of adjectives: ruthless, vile, savage, and heartless. You read about their victims in the paper. Usually the elderly or uneducated.

This reminded me of the loans secured with car titles a few years ago -- so if you miss a payment, you're walking. It's amazing how high the interest can go -- over 60%. Payday loans are another cycle of poverty. well-stated message. those words should be on the employment applications so the future employees can realize they are trading their souls for the job.

Short and to the point. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. There is very good imagery and descriptive scheme. Good job.

I totally agree with you Susan, you have described them perfectly. They feed off the naive, desperate people, knowing once they've drawn them in, they'll never let them go. It should be against the law. Well done, I was nodding my head throughout every line. :)Sandra xxx

In my opinion, while I can relate in a serious vein, I still found this work hilarious and satisfying in its description and angst - definitely smiling in the pain of frame of reference...

I'm not sure I agree completely that all creditors are leeches. Some of them are giving people who wouldn't normally be given credit, a chance to redeem a bad credit history. Yes, it is difficult for single mothers out there, but I think many single mothers know that these kinds of quick cash loans are a trap and should be avoided.

Still, I can see where your poem is coming from and agree that there are MANY many many monster-ish companies out to consume the working man and woman.

Good picture with words that have much truth. It is too bad that these uncaring, money hungry people are willing to take advantage of those helpless people who can't defend themselves.

Well said Nassus! Such powerfully descriptive words you used to describe these heartless creatures! I can think of no suggestions that might make this better, so I will just say, thanks so much for sharing this one. I liked it a lot. MM

I once carpooled with a guy who on payday, borrowed money from one lender to pay off the interest on a loan he had with another Payday lender. I tried ti show him how foolish he was, but he would not listen. Poor fellow.
