This is delightful, and put me in the mood for St. Patrick's Day :) I can hear the tin whistle melody and expect the bride and groom in the picture to break into river dancing at any minute.

My favorite line:

- "and jig, and jig me down"

It would have been fun to see this line repeated throughout the poem.

Congratulations on winning this contest. I love everything about this Irish poem.

Sincerely Joy xx

    Thanks so very much for this great review. I enjoyed putting my mind into ?Irish mode?. I have a lot of Irish in our family history and a bit o? the blarney always creeps through. Hugs and blessings! P. S. I am honored by the six stars.

This Irish quatrain, An Irish Jig, uses the correct rhyme scheme and provides six stanzas which totally envelope what I see as an Irish story line. Neat.

Excellent excellent excellent I will say that this is a Irish love story or Irish courtship beautifully rhymed and filled with nice rhythm. It's actually an old Irish love story. The picture portrays a picture of A love courtship.

I hope this is really a bit of your own story. Your writing brought me to Ireland with the happy couple and your poem sings with the lovely lilt of the Irish brogue. Excellent work.

A very well-written Irish Quatrain. When we fall in love we do with all our might even the Irish has a special way to court the one they want for their wife.

Hello Mystery Writer!
Simply amazing.
I love the story told within your verse. It is original and charming.
Wondering about "heart felt"...thinking it should be "heartfelt."

May the Luck o' the Irish be with thee!

Hi there;
Such a lovely Irish Quatrain. Your rhyming pattern works well and your rhythm in the lines was a pleasant one. This is about the third entry I've read, and so far, I like yours the best,
