Your style is also about self reflection and philosophy. Religion is in there. But the truth is that what this poem is about is not really religion. It is true that sometimes there is a spark of recognition of good advice that can pop into one's head. I call it intuition. Intuition may come from above. Since all people have intuition, it is a universal concept. Nice poem and moving. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this poem

Religion is really a set of rules, secularism is more likely to be religious than true Christianity, my poems are always about what's peculiar to man not religion. It's more about practiced philosophy than an ivory tower concept. Thanks for this lovely review, blessings, Roy

written in your usual melodic meter and perfect rhymes, this poem tells an important truth ... we must keep our eyes on the true Light in order to avoid the potholes of temptation. I liked how you illustrated this with the coat that covered shame and the way it grows tattered with age. Very nice.

Interesting. Life is a bit of a maze. O.K., a big one and you did a very nice job on this poem. This is one that could be longer ONLY because you speak of life as a maze and then it ends. We could go so many different directions with that ending, but hey, it is your poem, right? Great job!

In my opinion, another dramatically presented vision of life in general, awaiting transformation by faith - it clearly delivers a potentially profound spiritual connection by this astute and Christian writer...

This story tells of a young man who is helped through life by his faith. His god leads him through hardships until he finds his way out of the maze. I like the way the poem unfolds. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Roy;
How true. Yes, if we only depend on Him, our life's walk will be straight and avoid pitfalls, in spite of blind eyes. I think too many men depend on their own sight, and still, they fall and blame God.
