A very interesting and dark poem. I ponder on its meaning, while delighting in its alliteration ans somber tone. Thanks for sharing. :) I think you are a fine writer.

Hmmm. Well, definitely you were not in a happy frame of mind as you wrote this memorable and captivating poem. But, often, writers --poets, in particular-- take on more sorrow than most. They just express it more eloquently and with visual allusions.

Much prefer the shorter ones. I can dwell for longer on them. This is full of taught language, tough alliteration and assonance and excellent, vivid imagery. Well done.

I disagree. This isn't just a poem. It's spectacular like everything you write.
I like the word order, the rhythm, the alliterations, the repetitions...
Maybe my favourite bit is 'in the never-ending wend of wind'.
Thanks for sharing.

What a terrible place to pick, to die; red dead barn and dark dead shed. To die in this world is to live in the next. Our real home. Mind you, the way the earth is dying rapidly, it could be a dead barn or a dark shed; all that's left standing! K xx

Hello, Easy,

This is the second poem about death... is it on your mind? I guess it's in everybody's mind. I like the free verse with the repetition to take it home. I like the theme of life and death. Well done!

Hello Tom,
An interesting play with and on words creating the mood
of a lost world, perhaps Limbo, in between.
Too bad the wind mill is broken, with the never-ending wend of wind
it could have been useful.
Just an intriguing poem.
Best wishes.
Robert

This poem, It's There We Fare to Die, presented with three tercets and some boffo word work, brings another dark mood across the page. I hope you have cleared your pipes.

I was slightly lost on this one, but it seemed dark and, to me, a limbo of where we live and where we die. I loved all the wording and the phonics. Well done and beautiful. Best, JohnC

What I really love about this poem are the strong images: dead red barn, dark dead shed, broken windmill, never-ending wend of wind, salt spray, frayed baited nets, the rough sea, etc, all words creating such delightful images in my mind, even though, while reading this, I couldn't help but think you chose each word for how it collided with the words around it, more than because of what the word actually said. The sounds are fun and unique and tickle the ear and I enjoyed that almost as much as the vivid pictures.
