Sestina is a difficult form because of its many restrictions on what is acceptable. Still, you wrote this charming one well enough to win its contest despite only a handful of reviews. Congratulations!
My favorite stanzas:
Wisp meadows join in gleeful dance,
leaves pirouette upon each tree.
Unknown lands spellbind lonesome child,
whilst sun streams blanket velvet grass.
Kissed flowered budlets choose to play ...
as glinting dust engulfs the wind.
-- and --
Soft-cushioned grass ends wondrous play,
and calming winds, now slow their dance...
as awning tree cloaks sleeping child.
Superb, delightful, and aptly illustrated.

Sweet poem ... of child's play. I feel the dance, the play of the child. Your rhyming scheme is very good and enhances the dance of your words. I love the picture, too. Reminds me of books I read as a child :-)

What a gorgeous poem. I have a lovely book of poems for children. This could have come from that book. Lovely illustration as well. Children should love the cadences and pretty words here.
