Cute for kids' storybook. The picture worked very well. I didn't care for the ending though. Bold text was not an added plus. Reminds me of the different characters stuck in the bathroom looking at the toilet seat for life. Betty Davis
Sorry for the "poor" review. I'm still kind of new to this rating thing. I just didn't like the ending: "Now what?" Because of the picture I wasn't sure what Fred is, a toy? a pet?

I'm glad you like the story and illustration, Betty, but I'm surprised that you dislike the standard bold typeface, a criticism I've never heard of before. Even more surprising is your harsh 4-star grade. (I was much more generous to you when I reviewed your 'The Teacher' poem, complimenting it while overlooking some shortcomings.)
(By the way, we were afraid to take Fred out of water, and use the upstairs bathroom that has no shower, so the toilet is not a problem. If you have an extra bathroom for rent, please let me know.)

This 50-word dribble, My Friend Fred, seems to have caught someone in a state of change. Not the funny one where one grabs a towel and turns red, but something weird. Funny.

Thanks for taking on my 50-word drivel, Bill. My weird stuff is under-appreciated, but that doesn't stop me.

Who has two girls waiting for a shower??? Who could it be?
I like the creature. I'd love for him to live in my bathtub. He'd be great entertainment.

Hi Empty,
Maybe we could work something out. I should tell you, he's not as funny as he was before he began this foolishness. But maybe he'd have more incentive with you. He always was voyueristic.

This is a nice dribbling in a flash fiction; author's friend Fred did not like cats but there was a fish inside the bathroom; well said, well done, good luck to you with the contest. Keep writing. DR ALCREATOR
