As usual, I am lagging far behind in everything - my apologies for being so late to review that a deserved six would do nothing to promote this wonderful poem. Talk about tugging on heartstrings!!! This resonates too deeply for me, yet at the same time, that last line brings comfort...

This is a very nicely written poem. It's emotional, nostalgic and sensitive. The image reflects the tenderness of the composition. I think everyone can identify with your words. Marilyn

Hello!
I so love and appreciate the sentiments expressed in your 5 line poem. How I wish my father was still alive to walk with me and talk with me about everything and nothing. A well-crafted offering that resonates visually and emotionally with me.

Thank you Diane for your wonderful review and shiny six stars. Reading your comments warmed my heart as you were able to read behind the scene of the words. I wrote this for my father who passed away on 26 December just gone. He loved to walk and I have spent many times with him over the course of my life being with him somewhere on foot. He was such a wonderful man and I miss him and wish him still alive too. Thank you for understanding. ~DDx

I have written a number of tributes to my own father. If you get a moment, "Better Than Any Train Ride," found in my portfolio is my favorite. I read it often...just because...

A very well-written five line poem. We never forget the ones who once was part of our lives. We will always keep their memory in our hearts and on our minds long after they are gone.

This poem and message take me back many years when I'd go for walks with my dad. He's been gone four years and I remember the good times. It took this long to be able to enjoy the good memories of him.

Best wishes in this contest.

Joy xx

-A very nice image and poem, DD.
-You have effectively shared special
times in your life in these few lines.
-The last line is very effective and
acts as the satori.
-Good luck in the contest.
-Take care, as well.

Youth and age walk together in the poet's memory. A situation well described within the succinct rulles of this form. This one as haiku like overtones with a final line working in the same way as a satori.

It is difficult to remember a past relationship . Especially when we miss a loved one, "treasured memories" . Its tough to write a five line poem. But you pulled it off. Wishing you the best in your contest.

Thank you red. I appreciate your review on my 5 line poem. In this case it was not hard at all to write about a past relationship. This poem is written about my father who passed away in December. I miss him very much. ~DD
