Well Don, all I can say is that Dwight no doubt looked in the mirror and saw he was part monkey and part alien. Perhaps still cute enough to get the chicks though. Good luck in the competition. ~DD

A belated thank you for your support, DD. Dwight would be very flattered by your remarks about his looks, even though he is considered handsome. (He's very modest.) The picture was his reaction when he saw his first human.
    G'day, mate.

Oh, I love Dwight. You are so full of tricks that I am learning from, here being the use of the name to help the rhyme. The name does more than that though. I love that you named the monkey anything at all, and Dwight is so perfect. Wonderful job.

My apologies, Debbie, for being so late in relying to your wonderful compliments! I couldn't have asked for a more rewarding review. I wanted to wait until the contest was over, so I could sign my name. (Dwight finished in a tie for second.)
    Please forgive my discourtesy.

Perfectly done 1-6-1 for the contest entry and with the addition of the picture, made the whole piece a winner. YOu kept the rhyming of all three lines.

Ok, it's the picture that makes the poem, but good job! There's not a whole lot you can really say about these 8 syllable poems, other than nicely done.

I think this is a good entry for the 1-6-1 Poetry writing prompt.
Well said in so few words.
Good luck to you with the competition.

So very true and so extremely simple. It surprisingly flows very well and provides a great deal of information in such a few words. I liked it, the notations regarding the contest explained the concept rather well, thanks.

Your comments were intended for some other poem, but I hope you liked mine, too.

So sorry I thought for sure it was a simple poem about Dwight getting a fright. Oh well, regardless I enjoy your writing unless its political and I really don't do anything political, lol.

Oh. I wasn't being sarcastic, Aryr. You said the poem gave a lot of info, and I didn't think it gave any, and I didn't make notations explaining the concept. And since you didn't mention any specifics about the poem, I was sure the comments were for another post. Anyhow, I'm sorry if I sounded snide.

Thanks for convincing me that you read, and even liked, Dwight. :o)

You are so welcome, and I didn't think you were snide. I guess its like the old saying about beauty being in the eye of the beholder, in this case, its me, the reader.
