A great memoir, tragedy of death of two sisters, in the same July; heart ever goes with this burden melted within; well done, well said. Keep writing. DR ALCREATOR

I found this to be a very powerful piece of writing, everything about it heightens the sence of tragedy, being experienced by the family.
''even though she is not deceased
Denice would never be the same
this was just more pain more blame''
The tragedy, seemed to tear the family apart. on top of everything else.
I am not adepth enough , to make any suggestions for improvment in the verse, and all I can say is that, it is a piece of writing that reveals more of itself, with each reading.

I can see why the beauty of summer and the celebrating of Independence can seem odd to you in this month that had so much sorrow in it. Sorry for your losses. You lost three family members forever that month. You lost Denise as you knew her.
This is a well written free verse poem with use of some internal rhyme.

Keep writing

Wow, Tier, this is a beautifully stark and painful about the month in which your family experienced "more tragedy on top of tragedy." In glittering free verse peppered with sparkling rhymes, you write of the devastation this month wrought on your family:

Their deaths filled our lives with chaos
and it stang
like contractions of labor pain.

The month became so associated with tragedy that you cannot separate the two:

even when I hear the word July,
I only hear the LIE...
because she is disguised as one of the most beautiful things,
though not so.
Her innocence is gone
and she is the significance of terror.

As a resulted, July

is connected to this loss and tragedy forever

This is a raw, honest, and brilliant part three. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for the compliment on this piece. I don't know why I waited so long to post these poems. They were so long and I know that sometimes most don't like to read the very long poems so I have started to write shorter poems now. Spoken word poem are usually not very short poems and most of my poetry, to me, is more like spoken word.

Thank you again, Andre. You are the greatest.

I learned your name through a dear friend Meia S., You have a very strong poetic voice and your obvious talent reaches very far beyond the printed page. I ache for your family as they struggle to deal with a tragedy that has visited far too many African American families. Our strength and our beauty is that despite our hurt, we remain a beautiful people, we do not become monsters who blame societies ills for our own. Let the writer write on.

Tier--
Some July! You are, of course, free to do whatever you need to do. I could, with immense work, maybe sort through these events of yours-- the curse on your family this July. You have arrived at your own conclusions, feel comfortable in doing so. Go from this point where your feel you need to go.

I like this poem, it is better than some of the others in this series -- it is very hard to rate or criticize these considering what they are.

It's been an adventure fanning you. I hope to see more where you have gone in the future.

It is so hard to fathom so many trials within a given timeframe and easy to understand why the month itself would evoke visceral feelings from that point onward. This is beautifully written and quite powerful in both form and content. My prayers go out to you and your family as I know how hard it can be to overcome the shadow such tragedies cast. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.
