This cinquain, Old Red Barn, has the right setup and takes our thoughts to the days when this old barn was already old and we were young. There was the cleaning out of stalls, feeding chickens, slopping hogs, and emptying the rat traps.

It's a simply divine place to be. Farm Life! Never simple and yet the end of the day if we got lucky feels like winning the biggest lotto ever! Really enjoyed this one and it gets my vote. Good luck. xoxo Kiwi

Living on a farm myself as I do, I could completely relate to this post, Anonymous Poet.
Sure, city life does have its advantages. Everything is little more than a stone's throw away.
But for me, the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages.
Farm work is hard work, that's true.
But I believe it also builds character.
Good entry.
Best of luck in the contest.
Happy New Year.

In its brevity, this poem reflects life on a farm and family history. The imagery is vivd enough to take the reader to behind the doors of a barn. Given I lived in the city all my life, i am clueless to farm life. However, this poem introduced me.
Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest. Happy New Year!
