This 5-7-5, Sakura, has the right setup and notes that beauty doesn't need to stand forever in front of us in order to live forever inside of us. (Gee, I ought to write that down somewhere.)

When the cherry blossoms let loose in Washington, DC, along the long walk past the Washington Monument, towards the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, it looks like snowfall.
It's a beautiful sight to behold.
It is no wonder why Japanese poets and painters alike are so inspired and enamored by them.
You've certainly done them justice here in your well penned 5-7-5 entry.

Thank you for your in depth review, Dean. Whether in Japan or D.C. it truly is a vision to behold in the spring! With sub zero temps now, I am really looking forward to cherry blossom time!

You did follow the guidelines of the five - seven - five prompt about a flower. And reading the other entries thus far, I would think you should do quite well in the contest. Best wishes.

This speaks beauty would never leave a heart, as the season is short so the flower will dry but beauty of the flower will lie in poet's heart; I liked. DR ALCREATOR

This is a lovely poem and the words you chose honor the cherry blossom well. I especially like the ending because I believe it is true such beauty lives in poet's hearts. Well done!

Hi there,
Nice feeling engendered in this piece with soft words which belie the denouement in the final line. It does seem cold, harsh things linger longer...
All the best

Aooreciate your taking the time to read and review. In the Japanese culture, I'm Asian, the cherry blossom symbolizes the brevity and fragility of life. Apparently I did not succeed in conveying this. Should revise...
