Okay...

Oh so true!

We can be refreshed by Truth or even swept away.

For many, Truth is not their friend and they see ignorance as an insurmountable, unchanging fact that they simply accept.

"Why question?" they would say. Not wanting an answer.

"What is the use if you can't make a difference," they have determined for themselves before they even try.

Ignorance and fear are twin peaks in reality.

The path to Truth always begins with a question one desires an answer for.

Congratulations on winning this contest. Three lines is a challenge to get a decent message out, but you have a fine one. I have a mountain of ignorance - coincidence? Hahaha, I thought that up after I read your poem. This poem gives the reader much to think about. It will stick with me a while. Well done.

This is a wonderfully done three line poem, my friend. I love it. Nice metaphors:
"Truth is a river
flowing through a canyon--"
Truth does run smoother:)) Good Luck! ~Kerry

We forget sometimes that we can get our point across without writing a long poem. Sometimes it has stronger meaning when it's short. This is a great message, ignorance is hard as a mountain. I like the metaphor's used and the picture used was great. Thank you for sharing. NB

The picture complements well the message you wanted o convey to the readers. The comparison between truth and ignorance conceptualized through the images are effectively crystallized the theme of your poem.

Hi Mikey, to write a poem with just three lines has to be something really worthwhile. Well, yours certainly is - very clever thought went in to this and I think you could be on a winner. Happy New Year, Dorothy x

Hi Michael,

A very deep piece here (no pun intended).

The implacable mountain which only moves/grows in unnoticeable degrees.

The river of truth eroding that ignorance as it passes through.

The metaphor is a good one.

This three-line poem, What Water Whispers, uses seventeen syllables in the required stanza setup and, with metaphors streaming across the dry land, states the simple truth of reality flowing uphill hoping to hydrate the hate, irrigate the irate, and moisten the narrow minded.

You've written a nice poem with correct syllable and line count for the contest. The idea behind the poem is worthy of being repeated and the artwork works nicely with the poem. No errors that I noticed.
