I am glad to see you continue to be inspired at the conclusion of this year and hope 2018 continues to be a productive year. "Alas" is right--we seem to have learned little from history when it comes to perpetuating wars. Your use of the horrific, well-recognized photograph adds a dramatic visual to the sound of "Distant drums". Here's to peace! -Joan

This is made even more dramatic by the picture you posted with it, dear Ameenji. We often 'celebrate' the new year not realizing how many people have no cause for celebration...the world needs more people to become aware of how hurt it is...and to help heal it. Thanks for voicing this so well.
