I don't get it...The poet seems to say someone has slid back into old behavior patterns and has not learned from past mistakes...There is an allegation of shame..but in order to feel shame one must care what those around think...otherwise shame does not exist...Neither do restrictions on behavior. It is all about respect...I certainly do not understand the slavery or the X of illiteracy...and my degrees do not help:).....but it is an interesting poem that makes one think....and go whaaaat?

Sometimes I'm not exactly sure myself. I just write with something a little vague in mind. I'm thinking of the current sad situation where all the progress that's been made seems to be an illusion and everything is like it was fifty years ago. It seems like maybe people wish it was 1850 or something. Anyway, that was rolling around in my head. Usually if I've caused any thought at all I'm happy. LOL Thanks so much. mike

A very well-written abecedarian poem. Two people once together in harmony, now decided and prefer to be apart and forget one another as soon as possible.

Very good job working with a difficult form. The message is a little on the obscure side overall. Still, I think I gathered at least a few gleanings of meaning from it. Good stuff.

You definitely used the letters and in succession and it was a piece that makes the reader think. What more can we ask of any good writing? Well done and good luck. xoxo Kiwi

Damn, this is so good and I don't have a six left. I did read the rules and this is so smooth I cant even tell you are under restrictions. This is simply an awesome deep write. NG

Dear Poet, I have to say this is one of the best Abecedarian Poem writes I have ever read. Excellent piece and so compelling with it questioning content and compelling message. I can't help but shower this one with a six and wish you all the best in the competition. ~DD

Wow you got the Alpha. Bet you wanted to give it a rest. Your writing is superb running the letters and the lines keeping that pace and making sense is hard to do. This is a good poem for the contest strong and true. The old way to ryhme and the new is not too (to?). Whatever. A very good read.

Great philosophy and suits this type of competition. Well done. Dark and thought provoking. Undertones of freedom lost shout. Not sure what that is but goes with the rest.
It's very deep - too deep for me.

This is a good entry for the Abecdarian Poem writing prompt.
This picture is kind of wild and matches the title 'An Equation of One Self Over Another'.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.
Sharon

This is an excellent abecdarian, I like your title and it's awesome the way you chose the words to use each letter of the alphabet to form such meaningful sentences to relate your poem to your title and finalize it with a brilliant ending statement.
