I thank you so much, Charlie for your endearing words. I believe you are correct in all points at least according to myself.

Nice poem. You draw the reader in effortlessly and carry them upon the whisps of memory you manufacture for them. Enticing, compelling and in the end intoxicating!

Such a soft endearing memory or memories of love that was so comforting, but I don't know how love really ended, or how it began. Perhaps, writer is confessing his long lasting enduring love and loyalty. liberty justice

Sorry, I don't have any six left. I liked the artwork that complements your poem perfectly. I thought this is one of your best poems. Your poem has a lot of meaning too, from youth till adulthood. And first you. Thanks for sharing.

no longer a part of this world
but walking through memories
of other days
which once sustained me [my favorite stanza.]

Loved the poem and thanks for the music. Nice slow ballad. Just my speed.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Tears were my truth
I held them like
Evening crystals
Stars that fell
From a midnight sky
They were all I
Had left of you
But now I see
With clarity that
Smiles cannot erase
The memories for
Forever they shine.
A smile, a tear
Each had its place
In the grace of
Remembering you.

Melody of Tears, Beethoven:

I hope you do not mind..
but I had you in mind..

I thank you for the 6, Nika. No. I don't mind and this has touched my heart deeply. I rarely listen to music while reviewing because it distracts me but this is a rare exception. The piano riffs sound like tears falling with some of the parts sparking hope. "Each had its place In the grace of Remembering you." This is a Christmas present and I thank you from my heart.

In this poem of an honest voice, you go back to memories of times of your life, growing up, being a mother, a lover, and the poignant emotions of those scattered moments shimmer and shine in this surreal, dusky light. You seem to move in and out of planes of consciousness, of dimensions; at once here and now, and at once then and there. at the end is the powerful moment when you seem to realize that the moments you lost, are the most precious. very moving. estory

Thank you so much, estory. It truly was a reverie. I wrote it at night in the quiet. The temperature had dropped so I put on the electric woodstove and dimmed the chandelier. The poem appeared quite easily.

This free verse tells us how life inspires our writing and how often we get lost in the flow of our poetry. It shows how it can also be cathartic and thank those who helped us through dark times. Wow, writing does a lot for us and those who read.

Keep writing and Happy Holidays.

Joan

I also write in darkness often, Dip. There are few distractions and it gives me the peace to concentrate what I wish to put down.
