Fragile indeed. One day we will become such to Christmases past.
I like the way the list runs down until the final realization that someone will be missing from past years.
Bravo.
My best wishes.

This is such a beautiful poem on the memories of Christmas, Maria. It's very nostalgic with wonderful sentimental memories written from the heart. Truly well done:)) ~Kerry

A sad gone by memory. But the Lord is still with you all year round, even though we only celebrate with memories and tangible symbols. Thanks for sharing

Hi MJ,

Loved this. It's simplicity is its beauty until the depth of the last verse which really makes the reader stop and think.

Super stuff

Maria--this is outstanding. I love it. You have said everything "dear" to our hearts as Christmastime approaches. Past Christmases carry so many fond memories for us. Great job. Marilyn

I have so many memories when I see these little figurines around Christmas time. I would imagine them as being almost real, adding to the magic of that time. My mother pulled out the stops for Christmas and the figurines were the centerpiece.

Hi, Maria;
Thank you for sharing this lovely story in a poem about the Christmases of the past and how you perceive them. Yes, they are ghosts now, but hopefully, they are happy ones,
