This is a well done loop poem where each loop creates a feeling of deeper grief
of the loss of a spouse. I like the dove as a metaphor of a carrier pigeon for the message to God to lessen the grief so the stone heart will crack and feel less alone.
Maybe even find someone in that crowd to start over with.

Congrats on the win.

No wonder you won. Loop poems are touchy about sounding like natural speech, and tougher than they look to make flow smoothly. Exceptional poem.

Wow. A difficult form flawlessly executed. Excellent use of words, artwork, colors and font for a beautiful visual display and read. Great job!

I.,

This is such a beautiful poem to describe loneliness. A state of mind that we should be able to easily shake...but simply can't. Wishing/hoping this is mostly fiction--

Favorite lines:
Crowds make me feel more alone,
Alone I'll face your death and then,
Then this heart will turn to stone.

Thanks a bunch!

That was a very sad, but beautiful poem, Ida. I've read many poems lately from poets who have just experienced their loved ones passing over, we all have to face it one day. Not that it makes it easier to know that. I've been there, and I know I will again unless I go first this time. This is such a good, well written Loop poem. I wish you good luck in the contest. :) Sandra.

This is just so lovely, with stunning artwork. Crowds can certainly make the lonely even lonelier. The ending is so very tender and touching. Great entry, blessings...

What a perfect piece of matching artwork. I have never attempted the loop but you seem to be quite astute at writing them. My :favorite line is:
Disappear amongst the crowds,
Crowds make me feel more alone, I can relate to that.
