Wow, Gypsy, this is a powerful, simple haiku about a homeless man sleeping on a wet sidewalk in the rain. Your poem captures an observation of destitution. Your poem distills this impression. I find that haiku based upon real observations to be more powerful than haiku based upon pure imagination.

A very true statement. Many homeless are there through no fault of their own. I'm reminded of the song Don't Laugh at Me. It's easy to think they get what they deserve, but it's not true.
