I like to take naps on days like these. This is a great poem and I enjoyed it very much. I often think of the homeless and how selfish we are at this time of year when they are so cold and even if we think we are poor, most of have enough. A great poem and very topical well done kindest regards Meia x

WELL DONE! THANKS for bringing attention to plight of homeless in US. All people who are homeless are not on drugs. Some are our veterans who went off to war came back lost their home, their family ran off, and have ptsd. Such bad day to sleep on streets. I stand with you in the fight against homelessness. Can I call you the Advocate for Homeless People Poet?
WELL DONE. Check out my profile. lol liberty justice

Perfect 5 7 5 syllabi count. Once again your words show the picture. I always say Haiku is like taking a photo with words. You're an expert at doing that
All the best Gaye

Leave it to you to find the compassion to
express your feelings for someone in such a
state affairs. You are remarkable. Even with
your own challenges in front of you and you
the time to express such a beautiful haiku about
someone's struggle. -Bill

Potent message in the final line in this 5-7-5 haiku poem--you capture the season well. The images are strong. You convey your emotional reaction very well without saying what it is, instead the reader finds a need to relate to the man.

Not everyone in New York City can find shelter from bad weather, and more often than we would like to admit, we encounter people in distress, people who may not survive for long.

So true, and stark the image that adds to the imagery. Sometimes reminders do well, as they keep us in touch with a piece of reality many would like to forget.
Life is precious, and sometimes those who have much, forget them that have little.
Good use of few words.
Best wishes.

Hello, Gypsy;
-you captured the moment beautifully like an artist you even chosen a picture that works with your haiku.
-"Wet streets and gray skies" is an excellent satori and one befitting of starting the haiku.
-When I went to record in Sacramento, the nights I would roam the streets and even wrote a song about it.
-Is the man is napping on his cardboard and according to the picture is wet so his cardboard isn't sustaining him. He painted a very sad picture of our society and captured what we need to do in our own minds.
-Thanks for sharing and take care and have a good one.
