This speaks a formidable experience as a soldier (poet's father) in the World War II field that how countless brave soldiers died; he prays for all one by one who rises from the grave claims for fall; I liked.

Hello One By One: Reading your poem makes me imagine we're in a fox hole, just you and me. You're talking to me. The night sky is lit up like a super nova with nine lives. Bombs are exploding. The earth quakes all around us. Dust, dirt, and other flying debris kicked up by mortar bombardment spray our sprawling bodies. I have my helmet pulled down over my eyes and my ears too. But I'm listening to you talking to me, honest. You're telling me everything you've said in your poem. When you've said it all, you ask me. "Are you listening to me, boy?" I don't answer. I just lay there pressing my helmet down on my head with both hands. You elbow me in my gut. Now I'm holding my gut. You reach over, pull my helmet up, the better that I see and hear you. Looking at your mud smeared face is like looking in the mirror. I see your eyes looking at my eyes. I hear you say to me..."We're going home, boy. Betcha' heard that."

A beautiful tribute to your father. World War 1 and 2...terrible. My dad was in Vietnam 3 times. He wouldn't talk about it. I found your rhythm and rhyme absolutely flawless, and this is memorable. Blessings..

A dignified and solemn remembrance in poetic form here for those brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice with their lives in WW1 'Sleep in peace my gentle ones'.

I enjoyed reading your beautifully written sad poem "One by One'". You rhymed it well with much feeling. I think maybe an appropriate picture could enhance your story.
All the best
Marybell1.
